All the same, baby. All the same.

In no particular order:

Neil Young and Crazy Horse: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Elton John: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers
Carole King: Tapestry
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Second Helping
Pearl Jam: Ten
Counting Crows: August And Everything After
Lindsey Buckingham: Under The Skin
Stevie Nicks: Bella Donna
Fleetwood Mac: Rumours (I couldn't care less how many it sold; I look way, way, way past that kind of insignificant crap and only care about the lyrics and music.)

Good luck...other than compilations or a couple of live albums (Standng Room Only & Atomic Cafe), the original albums are out of print....although, I see that you can get a "2 fer" of All Four One/Little Robbers as an Import. I think the album BEFORE All Four One, called Careful actually has better songs (especially the Tim McGovern penned "Envy"), but the production isn't as crisp as the more well known album.

AMAZON.COM has all the original albums (on CD) used, but pretty spendy! Their last album (of the classic core crew) Shock is going for over $100!!!
Hmmmm, maybe I should thinka bout selling MINE! LOL!

And, then there are Martha Davis' two post-Motels albums Policy and ...So The Story Goes. Also, used only for close to the $100 mark. I haven't heard the latter one, but Policy is REALLY good, sounds pretty much like a torchier Motels album.

If you like The Motels, check out Burning Sensations (led by ex-Motels guitarist Tim McGovern)...they had that one hit back in the late 80's called "Belly Of The Whale". Their entire album is fantastic (as well as the 3 bonus tracks on the "Belly Of The Whale" CD single)...they even re-do "Envy", changing the gender for the male lead vocal...a more powerful version, a bit more frenetic than the "tame by comparison" Motels version.

He pretty much tries to be witty, but it ends up coming out snidey... and in some cases offensive.

I thought he was harmless enough until he came out with that song "Waiting on the World to Change." It's not terribly polite, but "pu$$ified" is the only way I can really describe it. Then there's that whole thing about him saying his d*ck was a "white supremacist." I mean, who says things like that? He's a piece of sh*t all the way around.

He just oozes class in these interviews, doesn't he?

Seriously, I'd seen the Playboy thing, but that first one hurts my everything.

Love, Love this list. 60's ! I'm surprised that not many people mentioned the Beatles. Their albums are fantastic.

I'm also surprised that John Lennon hasn't featured in these lists much at all...
(Everyone'll be sick of me saying this by now, but I think JL's music is a step-up from what he did with The Beatles...)

I'm a big Lennon fan but found his solo career to be quite hit and miss. Peronal taste of course but for every really good album (Imagine, Rock and Roll, Mind Games) there was a bad one (Some Time In New York City, The Wedding Album, Shaved Fish) and so I tend to just listen to my Lennon Legend album.
