Phew! I wonder if Lindsey was thinking about putting Part 1 after "Mystified" on the final album. Those two songs have the same vibe.

I'm really bummed there's no 5.1 mix on here. The Hi-res is not the same. Mirage was the way it should be done.

Tango was quite a big deal in the UK back in 1987. My first CD! I remember a friend of mine who used to work in a record store hated it, because it was played so much at work. He said a colleague used to drive him mad, singing 'she's so crazy, she's so lazy...' all the time!

I found this great old photo of the original ad campaign on the London Underground:

Maybe we'll see some again, with the reissue. Strangely nostalgic time for me!

price drop today, now down to £54.99, suspect this may drop some more before release day

How is the 5.1 mix of Say You Will? Is it done well?

Tango in the Night really was a huge part of people's lives here in the UK from 1987-88. It was massive. The reissue has already reached as high as #6 on the Amazon UK main album chart which shows how people still remember it and have such a high regard for it.

All of the singles, bar Isn't it Midnight, are played on the radio frequently. And even though some singles didn't reach that high, because the album sold so many copies, everyone knew the songs already. Just like Rumours. (The highest charting single off that was Dreams which only reached a measly #24 and look how popular it is). I can remember a few weeks back Seven Wonders was played and just as it started she said "Ah, I recognise those few bars. It's Seven Wonders by Fleetwood Mac." Would she say that about a regular single that only reached #56 in the chart. No. It's because everyone knew Seven Wonders because everyone had the album!
My Dad said he had 3 versions. LP, Cassette (which he wore out due to overplaying), and CD.

Thanks for sharing! The artwork for TITN was great. I've always loved the single cover for "Isn't It Midnight"...very Mona Lisa!

I agree... the 5.1 mixes are the true highlight of the box sets. Deluxe Tango just doesnt have the appeal for me without it. Can you imagine hearing "Welcome to the Room" or "Everywhere" in 5.1? That would be ear-and-earth shattering.

SAY YOU WILL 5.1 is fantastic. Entirely new/different backing vocals on most of the songs. Even blah songs like "silver girl" perk up in 5.1 And "Murrow" and "Everybody finds out" are brain-meltingly-good.

Excellent!! I had no idea that it was offered till I read this post. Either that or I forgot. I have the 2 disc deluxe, but nothing compares to a good surround mix. Amazon has it new for $37. Totally worth it. Arriving tomorrow. I have the Rumours SACD-DSD hybrid that's supposed to be great surround, but not like I wanna hear. So I found the DVD-Audio for $65 new which is half as much as anyone else. So looking forward to that. I still can't believe they didn't do that for Tango. Pretty upsetting.

It really is Fantastic. It's probably the most "different" from the original than Rumours, Tusk of Mirage. I was really hoping one for Tango. I'm hoping that the DVD version will be decent. I sure hope the " Fleetwood Mac" album is the next release.
