Current UK midweek chart:

1) London Grammar
2) Glen Campbell
3) Ed Shearan
4) Buckingham/McVie
5) Katy Perry
6) Rag n Bone Man
7) The Beatles
8) Lady Antebellum
9) Roger Waters
10) Chuck Berry

Come on, surely they can outsell Glen Campbell.
I'd guess Katy Perry will shift more throughout the week.

The album is #12 on the U.S. Hits Daily Doubles sales chart so far this week. Looks like it may end up in Billboard's top 20 albums.

Wow that's great, thanks for that, James.
They have had a lot of airtime on BBC Radio2, and Christine has been on The One Show and Breakfast Time....
Fantastic...

Christine's been doing a lot of promotion, glad to see it's paying off.

London Grammar scoop first Number 1 album: "This really isn't something we ever expected to achieve"
Plus new entries in the Top 10 for Glen Campbell, Lindsey Buckingham & Christine McVie, and Katy Perry.

By Jack White
Congratulations to London Grammar, who go straight in at Number 1 with their second album, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.

There was no sophomore slump for trio Hannah, Dan and Dot – Truth Is A Beautiful Thing charts one place higher than their debut If You Wait, which peaked at Number 2. It's also Number 1 on this week's Official Vinyl Albums Chart, and the Official Record Store Chart, which compiles the best-selling albums in independent record shops.

London Grammar told OfficialCharts.com: "This really isn't something we ever expected to achieve, it's such an honour and we are over the moon. We want to thank all our fans, September Management and our label Ministry of Sound."

Glen Campbell scores his highest UK chart placing since 1978 with farewell album Adios at Number 3, and Rag'n'Bone Man stays at 4 with Human.

Completing the Top 5 are Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. Their self-titled album as a duo impacts at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Katy Perry's Witness lands at Number 6 this week, becoming her third Top 10 album. Witness follows Number 1 albums Teenage Dream and Prism. Also making a splash in this week's top flight is the late Chuck Berry. His final album Chuck is at 9, his first Top 10 since 1977 and fourth overall.

Lady Antebellum pick up a fifth Top 20 album with Heart Break at 14, while Cigarettes After Sex are also new with their self-titled debut at 27. Close behind at 31 is Taylor Swift, whose album 1989 re-enters the Top 200 following its return to all streaming services.

Liverpudlian rockers Anathema bag a second Top 40 as The Optimist makes its mark at 34. Finally, Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits returns to the Top 40 for a 23rd week at 36 following its prominent inclusion in HMV's Vinyl Week 2017, and hardcore band Rise Against howl their way to Number 38 with Wolves.

Top 5 really is fantastic. At the same time I cant help but feel some disappointment it didn't chart even higher. Its frustrating as the Fleetwood Mac moniker, with or without Stevie would have probably pushed it to number 1. With the media blitz unlikely to continue and without further singles in the traditional sense its likely to drop out quite quickly, I fear. Anyway, top 5 is still a great achievement- way better than any BM solo album.

The only Mac-related new releases to hit the top 5 in the UK since Tango in the Night have been The Other Side of the Mirror (3) and Behind the Mask (1).

Say you will made no 6, Time (47) the Dance no 15.

In the meantime got to 133, Out of the Cradle 51 Gift of Screws 59 and Seeds we sow 82. Under the Skin (did not chart)

Street Angel 16 Trouble on Shrangri-La 43, In your Dreams 14, Songs from the Vault 14

All in all, it's quite encouraging. Different times, I suppose.

The only real comparison can be with Say You Will and I don't recall much, if any real marketing in the UK for that album. I still think its great, but I think the Fleetwood Mac name alongside the positive reviews and all the work Chris has done would have been enough to propel it to a higher chart placing (possibly #1)

I agree, and it's a real shame we'll never see another FM album as it would have got No1 easily.

This will drop quite quickly.
