Always liked "Love Minus Zero". Think it's a great cover. Lindsey really did a fantastic job on this one. Actually prefer the "live" versions of "Say You Will" and "Peacekeeper" to the studio versions. They just sound "looser" to me, more free. I would agree with others as well that "Not Make Believe" should have been on the album.

It's a great cover. Not necessarily a great FM song, but I think Lindsey, Mick and John did a great job on it.

...and it's f'ing beautiful. It's just about my favorite piece of music production this decade.

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

So if you are a Dylan purist, does that mean ONLY Dylan is allowed to do Dylan songs -- always, under all circumstances?

No it just means that no-one will ever do a Dylan song well when they cover it

Not even that Hendrix guy...

I still listen to "Not Make Believe" from time to time. I actually sang it a cappella at a karaoke event one night.

Seriously? Jimi's version of All Along The Watchtower is pretty incredible. What about The Byrds or The Band? I think you should probably stay away from the I'm Not There soundtrack then. I think all the covers are fantastic but it would probably be like nails down a blackboard to you

Well Jimi did an ok cover of the song, but it pales in comparison to Dylan's original. Although Dylan does like the way Jimi did it...

It would have been better if Dylan had sang and Jimi had played guitar, now that would have been an incredible version.

The other half decent cover was Eddie Vedder doing Masters of War, although once again it pales in comparison to the original...

That is, perhaps, my favorite track.

But, yes, I've listened to Dylanesque. It's not as great as a great Bryan Ferry album (Frantic, The Bride Stripped Bare), but I would argue that it is possibly the most beautifully produced album I've ever heard.
