As they do on Bob Dylan's "Tangled Up In Blue," which is probably the song Stevie had in mind when she defended herself to Lindsey.

Faith is a hard thing to hold on to, something inside you says "I don't have to"
You're not like other people, you do what you want to
Don't see any problem with those, they are clever lyrics that fit the rest of the song.

It may not bother you but it bothers the hell out of me. That song could of really been something but when that part comes on it becomes cringe worthy.

I like both versions. I really like the production and arrangement of the TISL version but I love the 2nd verse of the SYW version, which is missing from the earlier version.

They both suck. From the very first listen I could tell they were trying to capitalize on the rhythm section of Dreams. Releasing Thrown Down as a single was a mistake. The song was too weak for radio.

Feel free to explain why you feel as you do.
Wall of Sound is Lindsey and that's my favorite version. Supposedly it was on a German acetate of Trouble In Shangri La. It was recorded during Sheryl Crow's tenure as producer. I'm thinking LB probably produced it. Not to nitpick but there are three versions, the TISL demo, the outtake and the SYW version.

I've done my share of dedicating my pain to people who didn't return it or deserve it. I "got" that one.

I think Lindsey ruined "Not Make Believe" by the way. Stevie's TISL demo version was a lot nicer to my ear. I don't like that he added all that whispering to her SYW music, I think he did it on purpose to make her songs sound stupid and she didn't want to stand up to him.
Every Day was partial payment to John Shanks for producing the record. He wrote it. And yes Thrown Down should have been on the record.

You can hear Lindsey singing at the the end of the outtake. He is singing on it. I think Don Henley is the best male voice Stevie's ever sung with.
