I like both versions. I really like the production and arrangement of the TISL version but I love the 2nd verse of the SYW version, which is missing from the earlier version.

They both suck. From the very first listen I could tell they were trying to capitalize on the rhythm section of Dreams. Releasing Thrown Down as a single was a mistake. The song was too weak for radio.

Wall of Sound is Lindsey and that's my favorite version. Supposedly it was on a German acetate of Trouble In Shangri La. It was recorded during Sheryl Crow's tenure as producer. I'm thinking LB probably produced it. Not to nitpick but there are three versions, the TISL demo, the outtake and the SYW version.
