I always thought it was "What have I done." But whatever, could be anything.

Hmmmm, I've always thought it was;

"I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know,..."

Default I agree with Brian

I think it's "What have I done." However, I've been wrong before, and Lindsey doesn't always enunciate clearly, as we all know! Another ending that's puzzled me: At the end of "Go Insane," he says something that sounds like "Loving you, staying true" or something. Honestly, I don't think that's what he really says lol but it's my best guess. Someone else told me he thinks Lindsey says "lovely new sanction." Another mystery!

The Caroline question...one that has long plagued me as well.

I thought it was something like - "What if I don't want to..what if I don't want to cut my-y chord" - repeating the "cut the chord if you can" idea in the song. But I've never known anyone else who heard that, so I think I might be out there a bit.

Hmmm, I'll have to take another listen to Go Insane....never really noticed that one before.

Default What is Lindsey saying?

I have a theory that Lindsey is really saying:

ar kibrät arba'im

This is a title in Old Akkadian, a Semitic language from Sumerian times preceding the Old Babylonian age, meaning "king of the four quarters."

Naräm-Sîn was the first king to deify himself.

I think he's saying
"want some gum? want some gum? want some gu-um?"

Seriously, I've always heard it as "what've I done, what've I done, what've I done....", with the last "done" being broken into two syllables.

On "Go Insane," I've always heard, "Say is she.... oh... oh... loving you.... Say is she... oh... oh... loving you....", etc., repeated until the song fades.

Heart Caroline...and GoInsane!!!

Can I change my mind? Now...On my second
and third listen...off the cd Tango In the Night
I now hear..."So...cut the cord if you can! U-hhh
Uh-hhhhaaa....Uh-hhhhhhhaaa...Uh-hhhhhaaaaa!
Then it sorta fades to OHHHHH CAR-OOO-lineee!"

I heard Carol Ann did not want to leave Lindsey!
So perhaps she couldn't cut the cord to his love!!
I can't hear any other words on this version!Sky

About GO INSANE...he is so needy and hurt...Lindsey
just makes me want to CRY!!! "So I call Your Name...
She's a lot like you!!!" Sounds like..."Waitin' ages or
Ancient sages...Ancient sages...da...daaaa....daaaaaaa!
Just Like YOU!" Surely he does this on purpose...
to confuse us about his TRUE meaning in the lyrics!

Good thread!!!! Made me listen to my old Lindsey cd's!!!

LINDSEY'S SONGS SOOTHE MY HEART and SOUL!!!

Ooh...now I'm gonna have to listen to these soon..!! Hehe!

On Caroline to me, it sounds like "Oh what have I done..." which I personally really like...I've felt like that before! I used to think it was "What if I'd known" though...and "what if I tell" is a good thought too!

On Go Insane...for some reason, from what I can remember, to me it sounds like "Say it's true..." But I think I'll have to force myself to listen to it now so I can refresh my memory!

Good thread...lol, gotta love the things that bring me out...Carl Wilson quotes and deciphering Lindsey's mumbling...!

Of course! Why didn't we think of that? It's so obvious!
