The Mike Campbell sound
I know a bunch of people who aren’t Fleetwood Mac fans but who are excited for this tour.
I’m hugely disappointed Lindsey is gone, but happy for Mike and the sound he’ll bring. This song represents his sound a lot more than most of Petty’s big hits; and it aligns pretty well with early Fleetwood Mac. The Heartbreakers have been doing a smoking version of Oh Well for years, which is also from the same world as this song. My wife made me realize I should be excited for this tour - she’s watched the grin on my face at Tom Petty shows over the years - which always happens after Mike’s solos. I think I’m finally on board. http://youtu.be/3_iBKacXIA4 Last edited by dontlookdown; 04-26-2018 at 12:15 AM.. |

I always thought Mike was the guitar equivalent to John McVie. Brilliant and beyond tasteful in every note they play, but criminally underrated.
