Well, I enjoyed it better than the second one which I gave 4/10 so I had to mark it higher!

But I agree, the first one is really good and the following two just don't measure up.

Dead mans shoes- I saw it a few years back when I was at college studying media studies and loved it so got it the other day. It's quite disturbing but extremly gripping. I've always loved British cinema and Shane Meadows is one of the best directors we have.

Career Girls- I love Mike Leigh's work (Happy go lucky is my favourite) so i watched this for the first time the other day and loved it. I felt a bit sad after though when i found out Katrin Cartlidge had passed away a few years ago. I loved her in this films, her and Lynda Steadman played their parts brilliantly.

Have you ever seen his film "Naked", starring David Thewlis? It's probably one of the most depressing yet ultimately real films I've seen in years. I love how it isn't afraid to show the darker side of life without adding the story ending/guff of "and they lived happily ever after". Life doesn't work like that, and I like that it doesn't shy away from that message.

No I was going to get that the other day. I've heard it's brilliant. My friend borrowed happy go lucky and she hated it because it didn't have a beginning, middle and end. But thats what i love about his films, they always feel more real even though sometimes the situations are a bit out there. Like you said he doesn't feel the need to give people the happy ever afters. I always manage to form a connection to his characters aswell because they seem so real and i adore how you are often left wondering what happened to them long after the film ended.

I only just got my Destiny Rules doc, I loved it, for obvious reasons.

And I found my two copies of Polar Express and got in the Christmas mood nice and early.

Isn't it just a great documentary! It's funny, interesting, and Lindsey of course is just so GORGEOUS and SEXY throughout!

I love Polar Express! I love Elf too! In fact, I love most Christmas movies!

Watched TRESPASS. Outstanding, edge of your seat thriller type.

Lindsey Buckingham - Songs from the Small Machine. Also OUTSTANDING.

Amen to that Viv!

Christmas is here already, my town is all decked out in decorations so I'm convinced it's Christmas.

Well I WAS going to watch my new B.Monkey DVD, but of course it's the wrong bloody region for my DVD player. So I can't watch it until Christmas when I'm getting a new multi region DVD player/TV. It's a lickle green one. So cute! Anyway, boo! Ah well. I may watch Half Blood Prince later on. Om nom nom! Sevvy! *Drool*.

You know you can chiap/hack all dvd players to make them multi-region? You get a 4 or 5 digit code and instructions online that are specific to your own player. Pm me if you want more info.

I watched All About Eve (1950) this morning and Malice (1993) this afternoon. Hadn't seen Malice in a while. Not brilliant but not too bad.

Thank you for the offer, but I don't think I'll bother. My DVD player is pretty much knackered anyway, and I get a new one next month, so I don't have to wait long. It's just a bugger that the movie hasn't been released as a multi region thing. For some reason it's only available in America unless you ship it from there. I don't get that.
