Using the Mac to Study
Just thought I'd share this :
Soooo, this quarter I have general science instead of chemistry. And we're studying space missions and all that good stuff. So, I've already started studying for the test (2 weeks in advance!) because there's TONS of dates we have to remember. I use the Mac to remember the years. For now, I'm just remembering years, so bear with me! Off the top of my head: Voyager I Launched 1977 ~ Rumours Sent Pictures of Jupiter 1979 ~ Tusk Sent Pictures of Saturn 1980 ~ Tusk Tour Voyager II Launched 1977 ~ Rumours Sent Pictures of Jupiter 1979 ~ Tusk Sent Pictures of Saturn 1981 ~ Bella Donna Sent Pictures of Uranus 1986 ~ RAL Tour Sent Pictures of Neptune 1989 ~ OSOTM Kind of stupid and very simple, I know, but it's an awesome way for me to remember things because it really sticks! ~Rhiya xD

Great job!
I have also done that. I am horrible with dates, but I can remember when a Mac/Stevie album came out or a tour. |

Haha - that's brilliant! I know I find that when someone mentions 1979, for example, I will immediately think of Tusk anyway, so using those automatic associations is a great idea.
I'm oddly fascinated by mnemonics and memory, so as a complete aside, my favourite way to remember things when I was studying was always with a non-sensical acrostic. I was a mad X-Files fan at the time, and I used that very successfully to remember the hierarchy of biological classification: "Keep pretty cop Oliver from getting Scully". I don't even know what it means, but boy, do I know my kingdoms from my species. Another interesting one is the method of loci. I simply can't wrap my head around it, but I was astounded to see a friend at uni remember 12 different "blocks to listening" by thinking about where she was in her house. There's nothing quite like hearing someone in the middle of an oral test going "When I'm in the toilet, I'm sparring". |

I can absolutely identify with this!
Another idea is to attach albums / songs to particular events to remember what order they come in. You know you're a fan when 1989 isn't the year you were born, it's the year OSOTM was released |

LOL! When I was in college (late 1990s/early 2000s) and a really obsessed FM fan, I remember telling people on the message boards that I was born the year Rumours came out! To be exact, I was born 7 months after the release of Rumours!

I do that too, hehe! Sometimes...like when did Israel became a country, in 1948, when Stevie was born!!!
