Default Chris, Rick and Brent Bourgeois

This is an excerpt from an "Obscure Song of the Day" item in Absolute Radio (UK)
http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk/vip/p...EOIS_TAGG.html

Bourgeois signed a solo recording deal with Virgin imprint Charisma Records around that time, and his self-titled album was released in 1990. Co-produced by rock veteran Danny Kortchmar, "Brent Bourgeois" featured guest appearances by Christine McVie and Rick Vito of Fleetwood Mac, and "American Idol"'s Randy Jackson, among others. The track "Can't Feel the Pain" was co-written with former bandmate Lyle Workman, who also plays guitar on that song. The first single "Dare to Fall in Love" is a lush ballad that rather resembles some of the popular R&B music of the time, while maintaining Bourgeois' vocal style and unique lyrical sensibility. Again, in spite of an eye-catching video that received a moderate amount of play, especially on VH1, it became only a minor hit, and the album did not sell well.

FASCINATING find, Michelle! I've never heard of this guy, but I guess now he's left rock behind and gone to religious music, and that ain't my specialty.....

I found amazon's page for this release. Snipped from a fan review: "Can't Feel the Pain" was co-written with former bandmate Lyle Workman, who also plays guitar on that track, with Christine Mcvie contributing the backing vocal. Rick Vito shows up on "Wild Child" on dobro.

And there are track samples on the amazon page! I listened to the brief sample of "Can't Feel the Pain" and Chris's harmony with this guy is absolutely gorgeous!

The album might be worth checking out -- there are some used ones cheap.

I wonder if he might have been bigger if he'd had a more basic name, like, say, 'Jackson Browne' or 'Todd Rundgren.' Brent Bourgeois is almost as cringe-worthy a name as Christine Perfect.....

Granted, he's more well known via AI, but it would give him more credibility being referred to as "ex-Journey bass player, Randy Jackson".

I'd never heard the album and I had not considered tracking it down before, but I thought it nice to see it featured somewhere as a pick.

Our own discography master, wetcamelfood, reviewed the album here: http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/discog/discog.php?pid=119.

He said you could easily hear Christine's smooth voice and the vocal lines suited her.
