I have a SN/FM remix thread going in Stevie's forum, where I've also posted these Lindsey remixes. I wanted to post them here, just in case any Lindsey fans or completists were interested. When the line "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick" was played, it was like the record player was on its last legs...or there was a brown out in the electricity. Still I liked the creativity of it....and the fact that it is SO DIFFERENT Remixes always sound like disco music to me, and as Yosemite Sam on Bugs Bunny cartoons used to say "Ah hates..." [insert disco] DISCO, it's the music that is playing when I am in hell (see chit chat for reference). Thanks GoldDustOrphan for exposing me to this mix... And now I'm off to listen to the others...

You're very welcome. You are correct that many commerical "remixes" are intended for the dance-floor, but there are so many that are not. From chill and ambient mixes to dramatic re-workings that cross genres entirely. I love House Music, Tribal House, etc., but I disliked last year's onslaught of Stand Back remixes - and there were many more than what appeared on the commercially-released CD. You can find them in the Mediafire folder or through links in the Stevie Nicks Remix Project in the Stevie forum. I kind of liked Dave Aude's remix because he added a some really nice keyboards, but that's if I had to choose.
Dreams was a song that I thought I never needed to hear again, but Axwell's remix of the Deep Dish/Stevie collaboration is gorgeous. It's not a thumping, noisy club track. It's elegant electronica that keeps her voice upfront in the mix. It made me love the song all over again. But, it's important to listen to it on headphones and not sample it on computer speakers. It sounds completely different. The Tin Tin Out remix of Peacemaker just adds a mild electronic glow. I'm going to keep posting and hopefully everyone will find one or two remixes that they really like.

RE: First post in this thread by GoldDustOrphan and the various versons of GOYW... I told him that I would give him so feedback...so here it is 23 days later....
I really liked Dave Aude's versions...preferring the radio one to the other one...but the race was so close! The vocals were so crisp, like he was literally singing in my ear. I love that about music... American' Bandstand Rate-A-Record, where three kids would listen and then rate a new song, was a very popular segment. Rankings went from 35 to 98. "I'd give both a 95." As for Marco G vs. Mc Mario & 20 something-- These folks take the long, path through the woods, by the stream, jumping over the log, swat a couple mosquitoes, say hi to Red Riding Hood, visit Grandmother, meet up with the wolf and the wood cutter and then circle back... It was a long way to Go Your Own Way and no one was singing the song along the way...just some obsessive/compulsive singer...on repeat... American' Bandstand Rate-A-Record, where three kids would listen and then rate a new song, was a very popular segment. Rankings went from 35 to 98. "I'd give it a 35."
