Lindsey Buckingham is an American guitarist, singer, composer and producer, best known for being the guitarist and male lead singer of Fleetwood Mac. Buckingham has also released six solo albums, the latest being “Seeds We Sow,” which was released on his own imprint, Mind Kit Records, and garnered rave reviews. As a member of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. In 2011, Buckingham was ranked 100th in Rolling Stone magazine's 2011 list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and is known for his finger-picking guitar style and wide vocal range. Buckingham is currently on a national U.S. solo acoustic tour.

Eh well forgive me, but I'm under 30 and find this comment depressing...

Do lots of musicians do this sort of thing? I'm glad some people recognized his talent, let alone who he is, but I just always feel like when artists do those sorts of things they are pimping themselves out... I mean, could be worse, could be a state fair! (Sorry if I sound like a music snob! I just think he's so much better! )

The MN state fair actually gets decent acts, not all state fairs are bad.

i have no idea whether they do it, depends on the musician i guess. i have never heard of LB doing it before (doesn't mean that he didn't... with twitter flow of real time info is so very different in the last few years), SN seems to do corp events all the time, and FM as far as we know did at least one of those in 2010. jimmy buffet is someone who i've heard does tons of corp events.

Oh I know! I'm from New York and we get good acts too, but I guess what I was more envisioning was the free concerts. We have multiple stages so some concerts you have to pay for and others you don't. Didn't mean to down everyone that plays at a fair
Actually, this summer I got to see The Turtles and a bunch of other great groups from the 60s, for free at the fair. It's called the Happy Together Tour. The Turtles are sorta the headline act of the group, they tour with about four or five other artists...they didn't all sound as awesome as the Turtles unfortunately.
