I'm thinking your second option, probably. And Christine coming back and falling into such easy creative relationship with Lindsey probably irked her even more, judging by her past comments. Maybe that's why the whole Nashville and old demo re-recording ended up happening!

I'm still not convinced we'll see a solo album from Lindsey by year's end, but who knows? He might want to strike while the iron's hot!
I think Christine will make good on her blues album of covers and originals, and relatively soon.....it's a no-brainer to use Mick and John, as she's stated, but I don't think John wants to be doing this much longer. I just hope she goes with Rick Vito vs. Lindsey!
After that.....at this point, I seriously doubt we'll ever see another FM album, at least one with all five. I think next year's tour is going to be painfully excruciating for everyone, so the thought of them all going into the studio....no way!
That said, I think the four could do one last one.....Christine and Lindsey obviously had a blast, to the tune that I just can't see this being a one time thing, and Mick and John might want to say thanks to the fans one more time. With an official farewell (of the five) tour behind them, they might feel more comfortable doing something along those lines.

I suspect there will be a lindsey box set or collection but not a new album.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.
