Default 80's 12" singles

I know many of you here collect records. I am thinking it's time to par down my 12" single collection. ABC-ZZ Top, many USA releases, none super rare to my knowledge, but all playable with no interruption damage, and well maintained sleeves. Anyone want a list?

I would not dump them unless you have dups and triplets of the same record.

I got a collection here. The last couple of years my friend down the street dump his extras on me in the 100's.Some that I never heard of and like them and some artists I do like and never bought the single when It was released years ago. Some I got are radio promo copies.

I'm still sorting them out now since there is so many.

I remember you mentioning that. What a score!! I want to keep them all, but I have SO much stuff and the way I spend on SN things it's like I need to just concentrate on one thing. I posted something along same lines on a few other sites a while back and there doesn't seem to be much interest, which is fine because that makes me want to keep them. Also, as much as I love spinning my vinyl-these long plays are great transferred to ipod and such where I can listen to them more often. But dangit-nothing like the sound of them on player like back when I first got them =)

Hahaha.Yea I'm enjoying them.I love the 1980's era of music.

Heres some below.

Yes I agree.Got to keep feeding the iPod good old music.

The way I do transferring is using a regular good turntable connected to a small sound mixer then to a stereo amp and then hooking up to the line output RCA jacks into my portable digital recorder.

If I want to do a quick transfer I just connect my turntable to my 1980's JVC boombox

First one was bought new in 1982 at the local fleamarket for about $200 bucks..I remember FM's Gypsy blasting out of those speakers.Plus Stevie's music from Belladonna album.

I got my second one a few years ago at the local fleamarket for about $30 bucks.Did some repairs and it works great.

Either way above works and sounds better then those USB turntables on the market today. You got more control with the level controls doing it the old way.

I transferred over 100 cassettes that I recorded going back to the 1970's to digital in the past year the same way as above .I still got 100's more to go.It was nice to hear them again.
