Video for Everywhere
Maybe this should be in the Rumours forum. Ah, who cares...
Anyway, I had no clue there was even a vid for this song until I saw it on VH1 Classic the other day. Anyone else seen this? WTF? Boring, silly, weird. I don't know, maybe there were NO shots of the band cuz Linds had left already? Just curious. |

''Everywhere'' is Fleetwood Mac's most played video EVER on UK music channels!. That video is how I first discovered Fleetwood Mac!.
It's still seen on one of those ''classic 80's hour'' channels in the UK. It's NOT boring either! I like it. Only Christine,Mick and John are in it also. -Bryan |

Back in 1988 when the single was released, I don't think this video was ever played on MTV here in the U.S. It was only played in Europe. Lindsey had left the band, but I'm not sure why Stevie didn't appear in the video. I don't really think it's boring, just different since Chris, Mick & John appeared in silhouette. It certainly didn't hurt the single, since "Everywhere" was a pretty big hit.

I think it's lame. I've read here that John, Chris, and Mick are in it and I've seen a picture at Burnish with Christine but I can't actually find it in the video. It would have been a good video if the band had played different characters in the Highwayman story even though it would have been kind of funny.

The video was never played on MTV in the US back in 1987/88... I'm really very impressed that VH1-Classic is playing it.
There are two versions actually... one that is strictly "story," and one that also includes a few shadowy glimpses of Christine, Mick & John. Makes sense why Lindsey's not there, but I'm not sure why Stevie's absent. I guess she may have already been doing some studio work for 'Other Side Of The Mirror' on breaks from the 'Shakin' The Cage' tour.

This video was weak. I'd rather not have one. The song is too good to have a cheap video such as this.
Same with Skies. Quality vs Quantity

Sounds logical since broadcasted videos in Peru... the main source was MTV. S.Wonders and Big Love. Those were popular videos (as Hold m & Gypsy, of course). |
