Default Single on radio and in stores

Hi Ledgies, this I found from someone on Micks site:

At 4:40 p.m., the DJ at WPLJ in New York just announced the premiere of Fleetwood Mac's new single. He sounded very excited about it. He introduced it as the new Mac single, with "...The distinctive guitar of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks singing harmony."

Has anyone else already heard the track on the radio? Has anyone seen it in the stores? Or isn`t it available there yet?

There's a good possibility that it will be a commercially available single in Germany (and an import for the rest of us), but it doesn't seem likely that it will be available commercially in the states.

Singles by classic rock acts are rarely ever available in stores here in the US... the record companies prefer us to buy the entire album.

Here's to hoping Germany gets a single with some bonus tracks on it!

Well that would surprise me a lot, but of course I would let you know about it. Up to today there is no FM single mentioned here as far as I know.
Anyone heard it on radio then?

Default An unfavorable response

Well, I hate to be a downer, but . . .

A local rock station played The Chain (Dance version), so I phoned right afterwards and asked about Peacekeeper. The DJ's reply?

"It's just one of those flowery Stevie Nicks ballads. It's not really rock and roll, is it?"

So I asked him if he actually had the song. "Yeah, we got it here somewhere," he said.

So I informed him that it's Lindsey's song and that his guitar sounds pretty good. But the guy wasn't at all enthused. sigh . . .

I'm afraid that, with the new "pop" version, there might be a lot of this response with the pure rock stations.

A radio station here in Denver, the Mountain, did the same thing this morning. He announced the new FM song and said it was a Lindsey Buckingham song and played "Peacekeeper." I got a tape out and taped it and been playing it all day!

I hope it gets a lot of airplay!

I don't think it ever played . I had the radio on all day in the background and I always listen to PLJ and I didn't hear Peacekeepr, and I'm sure my ears would have perked up.

Jody Denberg, Station Programmer with KGSR in Austin just played "Peacekeeper". He talked about the new CD and the inclusion of Lindsey. He also said we would all have to listen to the song several times to understand the meaning. Must mean he plans to put it on heavy rotation!

Nightbird, that's great news. I haven't heard anything in Vancouver. Although I heard it in Austin, via the internet, plus a good monologue of what's up with FM and Lindsey/Stevie (with big thanks to Livia).

Seems Canada can't get with it.

Silly Canada! I haven't heard a recent Stevie/Mac song on the radio in Toronto in a decade.

Maybe. But not with me or Christine or Lindsey. Christine and I will always be close; Lindsey just plain doesn't like me. I never had any musical training of any kind. I just had this innate ability to walk in, sit down at a piano, and write a song in five minutes, and go to bed. It drives him nuts. - Stevie Nicks, 1994
