Question Non-Favorite Live Songs?

What songs do you not care for live?

My list:

Lindsey:

GYOW (I am about to get STONED for this one, but I just love the Rumours version SOO much. It's the same with Dreams...it's just PERFECTION there. I don't HATE it live, it's just eh for me. I prefer ISA or Come for a hard rocker.)

Peacekeeper (I love LB's solo version SOOO much and it's pretty eh live)

WTWCT (It's okay, but there are many other songs on SYW that I'd KILL to hear live)

Stevie:

Dreams (Read above. LOL)

Gypsy (Same thing, it's PERFECTION on Mirage...although, the lil acoustic version they did at AHI was a'ight.)

SYW (Don't care for it on the album, and hearing it live, eh. LOL)

Christine:

SYLM (It's never been a fave Christine song of mine, and back in the day, live, it was boring. *EXCEPTION* Dance version...GREATNESS)

YMLF (Eh. They don't do anything different from the Rumours version to make it great for me.)

Over My Head (Eh...I don't care for it on the White Album and live, it's not fun for me)

Gypsy & Dreams are pretty blah live compared to the album versions, IMO.

I'll likely be KILLED for this, but I tend to agree with Stevie that Sara doesn't do well live. On boots, it sounds either really dragging or the tempo is sped up too fast. That's not to say I wouldn't be excited if they did it on the next leg, if only cuz it's become such a rarity, but I'll take the demos or the (extended) album version any day.

I hate WTWCT. LB sounds off key to me at times and it never really seems to start off well. Brings back bad memories of that horrendous Today show appearance.

Lindsey:

-Monday Morning (Boring on the album, boring live.)

-Go Your Own Way (From the Rumours tour to the Mirage tour, it was awsome. Then, when Linds left, and then came back, it didn't sound the same. Now, the music and Stevie still sound great, but Lindsey's voice is shot on this song. Don't care for it anymore.)

-Tusk (Too many backround vocals on the current version. It was always cool though.)

Stevie:

-Dreams (Just give it up, Stevie. It was great, then it just got boring and overplayed.)

-Rhiannon (Still not bad, but she could never do it like on the White Album tour again.)

-Gypsy (I hate every live version of this song. It was only good on the album, IMO.)

Christine:

-Say You Love Me (I kind of liked the older live versions, even though they were only mediocre. But The Dance version killed the song for me. Sorry Chris.)

-Over My Head (The album version was good, but the live version always sounded a little too country to me.)

-Everywhere (It sounds bad live. Except for The Dance version. Otherwise, it doesn't sound right to my ears.)

I agree. I hate the way that Sara transfers to the stage; It just goes on and on... There is so much going on in the studio version that when it's done live, there is a lot missing that makes the song sound kind of empty. Now I have never liked this song anyways, but I'd take the studio version over the live versions any day.

As for the question...
Lindsey-

WTWCT. It's boring. Just... Incredibly boring. Lindsey's vocals are incredibly flat as well.
Peacekeeper. Sick of it. It does nothing for me live.

Christine-

Little Lies- Never cared for the live version. Mediocre compared to the studio version.
Over and Over- I never cared for her vocal on this. I've only heard the Live album version, so I'm not sure if all of the live versions sound alike, etc. The guitar solo at the end makes up for that, though .

Stevie-

Dreams. No explanation needed.
Gypsy. The Dance and AHI versions are incredible, but other than that, this song is rather dull onstage.

Pardon? That song easily was the best live translating song from the new tunes. I like the album version O.K. not more not less. It`s one of the less exciting ones I guess. But live it really rocked imo. In opposition to PK- I agree here. I think the album version and esp. the solo version is a great catchy tune and deservingly the first single. But somehow they can`t translate it well live- whatever the reason may be.

Stevie - Dreams, Rhiannon, & Gypsy. From 1975-1983, yes. But these days they just seem lackluster. I wouldn't mind seeing them get dropped and replaced with other songs. I know that will never happen though, since those are the classics that the masses of casual fans expect to hear.

Lindsey - If we're not just talking about this tour, Save Me A Place. I love it on the album, but live performances ruin it for me. I tend to skip it on all the Tusk boots. I don't really care for WTWCT live, either.

Lightbulb Interesting...

We all seem to pretty much agree on the songs we don't care for.

Stefan, it's okay, but doesn't bowl me over. I'd much rather hear Red Rover and Murrow live!!

Almost forgot my Lindsey least faves live:

Peacekeeper (just never did anything for me.)

Say Goodbye (sounds too mumbled live, and casual fans can't hear what he's saying, therefore they miss the meaning, therefore DUMP IT & put something else new in - SYHA would be a safe choice, but I'd love to hear Rover.)

Not That Funny - I know many of you LOVE it, but I can't deal with LB deep-throating the mike & the yelping makes me litereally cringe - LITERALLY!

Paula

PS - Re: Chris - I don't like Little Lies on the 87/88 boots much either, but I love the album version.

Those would probably be on my list, as well. "Rhiannon" would be, without a doubt.

I never need to hear "I Need to Know" again at a Stevie Nicks concert. Nor do I need to hear "Stop Dragging My Heart Around."

At Fleetwood shows, I don't like "Don't Stop" any more, but I sure loved it a long time ago when the blues in it was still discernible. And I'm tired of "Tusk."

I'm tired of so much, really! Perhaps I should stop here.

Lindsey:
Peacekeeper---This one is starting to make me yawn everytime I hear it.

Bleed to Love Her---Never was really crazy about this one live or recorded.

Stevie:
Dreams---Okay, I love this song recorded, but it's getting a bit boring live.

Gypsy---this is another one that needs a little livinening up.

SYW---I like this song okay, it's just that I've heard it too much. Unfortunately, it's one of the only new songs by Stevie that they'll play live!

Christine:
The only songs I enjoy her singing live are "Say You Love Me," "You Make Loving Fun," and "Songbird." I would've loved to have heard her do "Brown Eyes," "Honey Hi," and "Think About Me" live at some point in my lifetime.

I would also love to hear Christine and Lindsey do "World Turning" together one last time.

Also:
Don't Stop---Could we run this into the ground a little more? I didn't think so, but it'll never leave the playlist...

Dreams- My favorite version was during the Dance tour and it needs to be retired.

Don't Stop-

Gypsy- The song itself just doesn't hold up live at all. If they insist on doing it, they need to do it like at AHI 2000.

Rhiannon- Save your energy for a new song like EFO or RTTG. Rhiannon must be an old hag by now and she needs her rest.

The Chain- Yes, I'm a blasphemer. The chain is not together, so stop singing the damn song.

Peacekeeper- Yawn. The new back-up is the one who shines on this song.

Say You Will- It has not held up well.

GYOW- The band just goes through the motions on this song.

Over My Head- Oh lord, they butchered this one on The Dance.

Big Love- Yes, we all gawk at Lindsey during this song because he's just amazing, but put a fresh spin on it. Do a full band version.

Now, I love Gold Dust Woman and never would wish it to be gone from a setlist, but I wish they would tone down the theatrics on this one. Do it nice and simple like back in the day. Howl all you want and scream to your hearts content, but stop with the dramatic gestures and facial distortions and cheesy lighting.

"Peacekeeper" is a good song, but tempo-wise, it brings the show to a grinding halt. We all wait around for "Take no prisoners, only kill" to be over with so we can get back to rockin' again.
