I also got word that the venue (Rexall) had officially cancelled it.

Damn. Now they're going to have to haul everything up there from New Orleans. Maybe they'll add a date in someplace like Moline as a result.

I've always have found it odd that shows are cancelled prior to the day of due to illness. A 'heads up' announcement the day before would suffice, I think, but to totally cancel it over 24 hours in advance sounds fishy. Anyway, she must be really under the weather, and it's her thing to postpone a few shows when she begins to feel ill to recover.

Great. Now I'm paranoid that more shows will be canceled.

Makes sense to cancel the next show to give more time to recover fully.

Apparently Live Nation is saying the EDMONTON show is still on and it's NOT canceled.... Northlands/Rexall in Edmonton may have jumped the gun on this..

edit: Nope... It's been postponed for real.

Fleetwood Mac doesn't like Western Canada, for whatever reason. I'm guessing somebody threatened to shoot a member of the band in the buttocks, but who's to say?

Now the Edmonton Sun is saying it is canceled:

"Tomorrow night’s Fleetwood Mac concert at Rexall Place has been postponed.

Live Nation, the company putting on the show, said an illness is to blame. It didn’t specify who was sick, although some media reports suggest it’s singer Stevie Nicks.

The band also postponed tonight’s show in Calgary just hours before the legendary rockers were slated to hit the stage at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

Tickets that were purchased for the Edmonton and Calgary concerts will be honoured at the rescheduled date."

Why do they always assume it's Stevie who is sick. It could have been any one of them.

Lindsey was very sick when he was in NM on the UTS tour and still did the shows. I am not saying he would never cancel but it does seem unlikely.

Well, no matter who it is... Sending Get Well Soon wishes for a speedy recovery. Being sick sucks and being sick on the road I am sure sucks 10 or 20 times worse I imagine.

You could be right. I recall reading in the CAH book, of which I know isn't lauded for it's validity but still, of all the times poor Lindsey was extremely sick. Yet, he still kinda made himself go on stage. Or fly on airplanes directly after having a lumbar puncture. I mean, take your pick.

Not saying he's not a trouper, but maybe he would just rather get it over with than have to reschedule and go back...
