Default Writing/publishing information for unreleasedLindsey songs, including 2 new FM tracks

Hello all---

I wasn't sure whether to post this here on or the LB board, but since the main reason I found the information was because I was looking up the new FM song titles...here goes...

I visited ASCAP.com today, and there are several Lindsey song titles listed that I didn't recognize, including two of the new ones that have been announced:

[I should warn everyone that there are small spoilers ahead regarding songwriting credits for two of the new FM songs...]

Hopefully it's the beginning of a new Mac album.

Between UNDER THE SKIN [2006], GIFT OF SCREWS [2008], SEEDS WE SOW [2011] and the live album, plus the more recent THIS IS 40 soundtrack, he's been quite profilic in the last eight years or so.

I would love to see a new Mac record with contributions from Christine, even if she only participates in the studio and doesn't tour. But I just don't see that happening...even given the Hawaii appearance, it's just been too long, you know?

I sincerely hope that she proves me wrong, though! I really think Christine was the glue in FM. Lindsey will probably always be the main reason I listen to the band, and, even though I'm not a huge Stevie fan, I think she has written some of the best FM tunes, particularly on SYW.

But Christine...her voice and presence were just so important to the band, and I'm honestly not sure if I even realized that until she was gone. Because she left a big hole. Even the songs from SYW that have her backing vocals stand out from the rest of that record. I'd love to see the band record a studio version of "Temporary One" for a new album. But even if she just stopped by and sang on a couple of songs, that would be enough.

However...! Stevie has made it pretty clear that she's not in favor of recording a whole album of new material. Let's hope that, with producer Mitchell Froom helping Lindsey out behind the board, that the band manages to find another creative peak.

[And if Christine refuses to participate, Froom is a fantastic keyboardist for the studio recordings. Not the same magic as Christine, but a talented guy.]

I think they're both "Family Man" remixes.

Yup, or alternative names of songs from that timeframe. Pretty sure LB didn't cowrite anything with Dashut lately. So judging by the numbering systems there are 7 new songs here, we seem to be missing one since Lindsey and Mick were mentioning 8
All these titles soumd better than first 2 they picked too. But then so did Sick of you .

Agreed mostly, but On With the Show sounds trite. I wouldn't like that.

No one thought Twist of Fate would change. Since it did, everything is up for grabs.

I prefer the title Right Place to Fade. I know most people don't. I found TOF too common.

I'm generally a big fan of Mitchell Froom's work, but I absolutely despise the sound of all three of Lindsey's "This Is 40" tracks. If a new Mac album happens, I hope Froom isn't involved.

If I'm not mistaken, the THIS IS 40 tracks were co-produced by Jon Brion, not Froom.

I actually like the production on those tracks, but I think the songs themselves are a little undercooked. They don't quite sound finished to me.

You're not mistaken. Mitchell Froom had NOTHING to do with the songs on that soundtrack. I don't know where Ken B. Got that information, but it is completely incorrect. I'm curious how a Froom-Buckingham collaboration sounds. I guess Ken is happy with this, too ;-)

They'll release it on the night of the concert. When Stevie said "throw it out" there, she was being literal. They'll just dump EPs on our heads.
