Default My Denver review

I just got home a few hours ago from my trip. I am so tired but I am going to try to write a few things.

I flew into town late Friday night. I was greeted at the airport by my friend Jenn and her friend Kim. I met Jenn back in 2001 at the AHI benefit in Phoenix and we have stayed in touch since then. Well they had funny signs waiting for me that read something like I need a punch card for all of the shows that I went to. It was quite funny.

OK I was trying hard to get some great tickets and I found nothing. My friends had fan club tix and they were ok but not the best.

While I was in Denver I did run into someone with who I have become a little friendly with recently. Well, this person said that they might be able to get 2 tickets for me. I thought that was really nice of them to do that for me since I was someone that they really did not know too well.
I was notified that yes there would be 2 tix held aside for me at will call. I did not know where the tix would be they might even be lawn seats. I was just happy that someone remembered me and thought enough of me to hold 2 seats aside.
We get to the venue after 7PM and I go to will call to get my tix. They were in Section 203. I was not too happy with those so I went to the box office to see what was left. They had a section in the 100s but it was way over to the side and 30 rows back. No thanks, I will just keep my tickets in 203 at least they were in the middle.

I get to my seat and it was so far away from the stage. Half the people were not in the seats and were still walking around. The crickets seemed to start really quickly. I did not feel like I was at a Mac concert. I saw a nice sunset in the background.

I wish that I could tell you what happened but I really don't know since I could not see too well. Even the screens were hard for me to see. I don't know if it was the arena or what. I really felt like I was just watching a concert on a big screen TV. The energy in the 200s section was non-exsitent. I saw some people standing in between the 100 and 200 sections so I went down there until security told us to move. Back up to 203 I went.

I am so spoiled that I just could not have a good time. The lower section seemed to be where the energy of the concert stayed until World Turning. At that point everyone was standing up for Mick's drum solo.

The only highlight was getting to see the old 1979 footage of Sara on the screens. I never really got to see it being in the front. I do wish that they split the screens to show then and now. The other complaint that I have is that during Landslide they focused on SN and decapited LB. I just saw his guitar. I did not see LB's interaction. I did not see LB do his little dance because Taku's drum solo seemed to be cut. I guess due to the curfew at the venue.

I had a great time seeing my friends and also seeing my new friend who did get me the tix in Denver. However, I doubt that I would ever go see the Mac again unless I was in the front. It is just not the same. I know that I am spoiled but that is just the way that I feel.

I just wish that they woud annouce the rest of the September dates soon so I can make my plans. I was going to go to Chumash casino but I don't have the $ or the energy.

Hi Pattie!
Crap, I'm so sorry you didn't have a good time at the concert. I know exactly how you feel, and yes, we may be spoiled, but really nothing compares to being front row. The same thing happened to me in Denver last year. I went to the show w/o tickets hoping to score some good ones and I didn't. I ended up something like 50 rows back on the floor. It was awful. I did not have a good time at all. I promised myself that I would never go to another concert unless I had first or second row. (BTW, I remember seeing you at that concert waiting at will call, but I didn't know that was you at the time!) Anyway, I wish they would announce the other dates (if there are any) because I really want to go to another show too. With all the concerts you have been to, I would be really tired too. I wouldn't want to go the Casino show either unless you had front row. Anyway..hopefully you can go to another show before its done - front row of course!

Ali, I have front row for Camden yea!! I just want a few more front row experiences before it's all over. I don't know if I want to go to MI yet because I don't know if it's thet last show or not. I am still hoping for a Providence date because I would get front row at any cost. LOL

You are so lucky!! I so want to go to Camden and AC - if I could get first or second row I would so be there, even if it costs me an arm and a leg! If I don't get tix to those two shows, I'm seriously contemplating the MI show b/c I think I would have a better chance at good seats. But, I'm waiting for other dates too, hopefully some that are not so far away from me.
