Default My Final Fleetwood Mac Adventure (Part 2)

PART 2

I get up pretty early and go have breakfast that I can’t finish. I go to meet Alex and we head out pretty early to AC. It was a good thing because we got lost in DC. We took a wrong turn and ended up in of all places Silver Springs, MD. Talk about ironic. We finally get back on track and head for AC. I check into my hotel and off we go to the Borgata. It took us a while to find the darn entrance to that place. We kept driving around and around. Finally we find the garage and we ‘pak the ca’. Just to let you know Alex was constantly making fun of my Rhode Island accent. He is from NJ so he is one to talk. LOL We then walked around a bit and find out where the venue was located. It was outside and was kind of weird. The ticket booth looked like something from a carnival with the flashing lights.
We could hear the soundcheck and even see the stage a bit from the parking lot. That was a pleasant surprise. While chatting with a few people we find out that there is a permanent barricade in front of the stage. We also find out that the stage was kind of high. I am glad that I have 5th row instead of first for a change.
I then go to wait in line to be let in and after getting bit by a hundred mosquitoes we were let in after 7PM.
I found my spot on 5th row, which was almost right in front of Stevie. The area in the front row was very tight so you basically had to stay in front of your seats. Alex and I see that a bunch of second row seats in front of Lindsey are empty. I decide that we are going to fill them knowing that if we get kicked out so be it. Well, we were there for about the first 3 songs before usher escorts us to our correct seats. No big deal. At least Lindsey saw us and got a laugh.
I took a ton of photos because I decided to take advantage of being in front of Stevie. I still could have been 1 row closer to get better pictures.
The concert was great. It seemed like so long that I had last seen them so close. There was a couple next to me that seemed like they might have had comp tickets or been casual fans. Well halfway through the show the lady was dancing up a storm. After” I’m So Afraid,” she said to the guy that she was with “ Wow he (Lindsey) is amazing!” I think that was a highlight for me as well. “Say Goodbye” was very emotional between both Lindsey and Stevie. I think that they both held back the tears. Lindsey ended it a bit differently too. He sang it like SAY - GOOD- BYE- TO –YOU with a pause between each word. It was very powerful and you could hear a pin drop at that point.
That was it as far as the concert goes. I also think that Stevie said that we all had beautiful voices. Alex and I leave the venue and walk around the casino for a bit. Nothing much happened there that night so we go eat someplace. I really wanted to go to an IHOP and I was whining. No IHOP so I had to settle for a Denny’s, which was actually not too bad. Alex had a craving for chocolate Pop Tarts, which were nowhere to be found. We then head back to the hotel to rest up for tomorrow.

I just want to say that somewhere in my travels I finally got to see and thank my friend who got me the Colorado tickets. Yea! It was nice to see him again. He is such a sweetheart. He did however skip out without saying goodbye. That upset me but I am sure that I will see him on the next tour and get to chat again. Who knows maybe our paths will cross sometime before then.

The next day Alex and I look for a CVS so that I can get my SD card put on CD and have prints made. I need to format the card to use it again in Camden. We do errands and head for the Borgata. Not too much going on there. I did almost run in to John McVie. He looked like he had done some shopping and was going to the elevators. I was right there and boom he comes around the corner and my brain froze for some reason. So needless to say I did not say anything.
We did see Taku and chatted with him a bit. We walk around a bit and I bought a purse that was on sale.
Alex and I eat at the Borgata and it was pretty good. Later that night Alex and I find a Friendly’s and then TADA stop in a Pathmark and find Chocolate Pop Tarts! Yea! We were both jumping up and down with delight. Then it’s back to the hotel to get rest for the trip to Phily in the morning.
