Default Your Life's Fleetwood/Stevie/Lindsey Song

Hey Guys,

Maybe I'm the only weird ledgie who does this.
But do any of you sum up how your life is at a certain point in time with a Mac / Stevie / Lindsey song?

I'd have to think my life is very "Sorcerer" right now.

What about you guys?
Or am I just that one weird ledgie

I'm sure you're not the only strange Ledgie. I suppose you have to be strange to follow the Mac these days Anyways, I've always been able to relate to Storms when it came to my emotional state and life. It was eery the first time I ever heard it when I listened to the lyrics. It felt like it was written entirely for me.

For the longest time in my life it was I'm so Afraid. Now it's probably Something Like Steal Your Away.

what do you think ISA lyrics really mean - other than obvious?

"slip and i fall and i die" part always sounds to me like a fear of heights - like if you are on a really high bridge or rooftop or somewhere like that and if you go too close to the edge you'll somehow slip, fall and die...

I don't know....but At the time.....I wanted to die. So it resonated that way.

Stevie has said that her songs are prescient (i.e. Rose Garden) and I think ISA is like that in a way as well. It seems to have that same fear of losing it that a song like "Go Insane" does. If it had been written in 1987, it would have had a great deal of meaning, considering what was going on in his life then.

When there were lyric interpretations, people said that ISA might have originated when Lindsey's mononucleosis (or whatever illness he had; it's unclear, according to Lindsey) was lingering, but the lyrics have a panic to them that seem to amount to more than that.

I took it literally Because that's how I was feeling at the time. Afraid, alone and just awful. Whatever it really means. I don't know.

I heard I'm So Afraid was about him having mono, but it seems like that, since it was written at a time when Lindsey and Stevie were getting started off and that he was afraid of whether or not they'll get anywhere.

As for me, it's hard to say, but I know that, when I was breaking up with my ex last year, that Go Your Own Way was our theme song in the end, but as of now, I can't think of anything.

I think i'm in a Landslide state of mind. The song reminds me of my brother in alot of ways. This time of year is a bold reminder that our time together ran out all too sudden and way too soon. He would have been 45 on christmas day. He drowned 6 yrs ago, he was 10 years older than me..But I was always the more responsible sibling. I always had to worry about him instead of the usual older brother, little sister role.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Wild Heart demo of Destiny. Every bit of the song has really been speaking to me lately, I'm just waiting at this point to wake up crying, trying to be strong

Interestingly enough, I don't have songs for myself, but I do have ones I assign to my friends. One of my best friends has been permanently assigned Silver Girl, for instance!

I guess if any song were to define my feelings in life right now, it'd have to be Migration by Jimmy Buffet. Here are some choice sentiments from that song I particularly identify with:

Lookin back at my background tryin' to
figure out how I ever got here.
Some things are stil a mystery to me
While others are much to clear.

I'm just livin' in the sunshine,
Stay contented most of the time
.

That's why it's still a mystery to me,
Why some people live like they do.
So many nice things happening out there,
Never even seen the clues.

Whoa, but we're doin' fine, we can travel and rhyme.
I know we've been doing our part.
Got a Caribbean soul I can barely control
and some Texas hidden here in my heart.

But those crazy days are over,
You've just got to learn from
the wrong things you've done.
I came off the rebound, started looking around,
Figured out it's time to have a little fun.

I bet the move back north frightened Stevie more than it did Lindsey. I love how she said sometimes she would spend the night in his living room. Yeah, as soon as the parents were asleep, he probably spent the night in the living room too!

"That's Alright" has been kind of my staple. Though recently, it's been "Long Distance Winner."
