Default Mac on the radio....

Here they have been playing LOTS of Fleetwood Mac on the radio. And last night I was listening to a classic rock station and they play 7 songs by a different band each night. It was Fleetwood Mac last night and I was so excited to see what songs they'd play. I figured it'd be the usual Dreams, GYOW, Don't Stop... but it wasn't I was kinda shocked! Here's what they played:

GYOW
Tusk
Second Hand News
Bare Trees
Say You Love Me
Edge of 17
Oh Well (1980)

Has anyone else heard a FM song that they don't normally play?

Jen

PS~ radio people have been mentioning the new FM cd like crazy here...basically all the things that we knew but at least they are spreading the word!!!

The only song I've heard on the radio(hardly listen to the radio)is Little Lies. Answer to question: No.

Yeah, they play Sentimental Lady, Bare Trees, Tusk, Over My Head, Monday Morning, KBCO here plays a really good version of Landslide from their archives.
Every once in a blue moon they'll play Albatross.

I was listening to the radio when Beautiful Child came on I thought that was really cool, the station did a three in a row song set of FM every two hours. They played some songs pre-rumors set up. Some of the songs that they played were Beautiful Child, Not That Funny, Say You Love Me, Songbird, Good-bye Angel, Angel, Seven Wonders, Gold Dust Woman, Everywhere and a lot more they also played GYOW, Dreams, The Chain and they most commnly played ones.

Three very "unusual" Fleetwood Mac songs have been played here lately: "Mystified", "Can't Go Back" and "Only Over You".

Weird choices.

Solo-wise, the only Stevie song I've heard lately besides the usuals "Leather And Lace" and "Stand Back" is... "Nightbird". Weird because it's not even in the Timespace CD. They have also played "Got A Hold On Me" by Christine. No more Lindsey than "Trouble", though. And no pre-Rumours lineup FM stuff either.

Song of the moment - You Make Loving Fun

Jen

I'd like to hear "Bare Trees"(I love that song) every day along with a hundred other Mac classics, and I'm not necessarily talking about "GDW" or "The Chain"!

Whatever happened to AOR(Album Oriented Radio) where the djs just dug into an artist's album and played what they felt were radio worthy songs or just good songs instead of playing the singles or the hits?!

Yea, when the "White Album" was released "Over My Head" was played as the first single but I distinctly remember hearing "Warm Ways", "World Turning", "Monday Morning", "Blue Letter"...well just about every damn song from the lp on the radio...that's the way it should be. Let the listener hear some different music instead of being "programmed" on the same songs over and over again.

An album is much more representative of an artist's music than just one song.

I agree they should play whatever the listeners like...not just the singles! I think I would go nuts if they played a non-single Fleetwood Mac song....

I heard "Everywhere" on Magic and "Hold Me" on Radio 2 both on the same day, a couple of days ago, which was really cool because on average I hear about 1 FM song on the radio per year!!

I have heard Little Lies on Kool Fm 93.9 during the lunch hour all request 80-'s Lunch. On another station during the summer I heard Over My Head during the saturday night 70's mix. What got me was how the DJ said what the name of the song was and then proceeded to say that the Mac was touring in the fall in support of a new album. (This was last summer when I heard this). Recently last month (Dec) I heard Gypsy being played at Home Depot (Of all places).

Talking Well...

hell musta froze over because (As I posted earlier) KRXO 107.7FM in Oklahoma City is playing the whole "Tusk" album currently as I type this on their "Classics Album At Midnite" (Which is cool to me!!!)...Brian "Sara is on the radio as speak" J.

ps-Isnt it bad when the cd being played on the radio starts skipping? At least it made it to "Never Forget" before it bit the dust (Got yanked by the DJ)...lol!!!
