I know in 1982 an interviewer asked Stevie why she didn't play on stage and she said it was because it would just be for the novelty factor, not because she's really any good. She concluded that Lindsey would just be yelling at her that she was out of tune and she figured that was the last thing she needed.

Oh, yes, you're right, now i remember. How fun would it be to see Christine, Stevie and Lindsey doing a guitar battle ?

She played guitar on the L&L demo and I would bet money that was her guitar "picking" on the Twisted demo too. She's not "bad" as far as doing what she needs to do - putting a tune to a song. She's not an instrumentalist but that's ok - that's why she's got LB et al...

He was so uptight that he couldn't just laugh it off and take it in stride, but gave me some kind of lecture, even though I think that's a common thing for kids.

I loved every little thing that Cory said about Lindsey in her tour diary, like hating to be the one to have to go and try to get him to the plane, because he would just keep talking and, while ignoring the fact that she was trying to get him to leave, he'd put his arm around her like she was standing there for her health! Or how he didn't bother telling him the zipper on his boot was busted and she had to tape it together for the next show.

Or how he would make faces at her while on stage and distract her from her teleprompter duties.

And I love at the end of the SYW tour when he made a dedication to her and said that Greg would be so proud and he got choked up. Awww.

See, there's another reason why I really adore LB. I know I don't know the man personally, but when I see how close he is to all these nieces of his and all the accounts of his adoration of him children...I respect him so much more. It's totally a bonus along with his incredible good looks, but it's a bonus I like being there. Which is why I'm such a pro LB guy when people like to rag on him as being a "jerk" (in other more provocative terms) towards everyone. By all accounts, he may not always be a ray of sunshine, but his family members appear to adore him and, having met him several times, I can vouch what a doll he is to his fans.

Thanks for bringing these little accounts up Michele. I remember reading an article written for some paper in California by one of his nieces (not Cory) and she mentioned how at some New Kids on the Block reunion show she heard them cover Fleetwood Mac and was shocked, mainly because of her childhood love for them + her uncle was in the band.

OMG, Lindsey's Today Show performance is like legendary...he was SO off. I have it on dvd (thanks to a special Ledgie) and I almost never play it for casual FMers because it's not the best representation of his usually masterful performances. But then it was freezing out and the man was wearing a shirt, a leather sports jacket, and jeans. No hat, gloves, scarf, etc. I'm just glad he made it through that without falling over.

I think the temperature caused the guitars to get out of tune...either that or someone (*cough*Ray Lindsey*cough*) didn't do his job...

Gee, i said i couldn't find the right word, there's no fighting here. And i also didn't say that i don't admire Lindsey, so I think i don't understand the "choice" thing. Or maybe you were talking to someone else.

Anyway, i said i was done with the subject.

As for the Today Show thing, it was cold out and i can tell you when it's cold out in NY, you tend not to move as fast and whatnot. It's even worse when your school is on the North Shore, where you catch nasty breezes and get even colder. Besides, he seriously needed a down coat that day.

It was in the teens here last winter. Combine that with some nasty North Shore windchill, and your feet will be numb in Uggs. Besides, don't you guys there have some gigantic mall bigger than Mall of American or something?

BTW, I love your siggy pic. Great fuzzy Lindsey right there.
