The demo of Tango in The Night is the greatest thing that I've heard in forever. I'm not alone in that right?

I know that some of you are disappointed at the lack of some demos we've all heard. I wonder if the quality didn't meet certain standards. It would be a shame to include a hissy warped track to fill up a CD.

As one of the best selling albums EVER in the U.K., I can't wait hear it remastered.

If you look at the image of the deluxe edition on Amazon and zoom in, it's fairly clear that the last track on disc 2 is listed as "You and I, Parts I & II (Full Version)" on the face of the disc.

I also wonder if the content of the 3rd disc was only recently decided. In the same picture of the deluxe set on Amazon, the first disc standing up on the left is clearly the full original album, the first disc laying down is disc 2, but so is the disc to its right. The far right disc is the DVD.

So the DVD is NOT a 5.1 mix. The previous 5.1 mixes have been outstanding. really sad they arent doing this for Tango.
Agreed, no 5.1, no sale, very disappointing. I loved the other 5.1 discs and was looking forward to this one. Oh well, money saved.

Does anyone have a link to the Big Love demo with Stevie on vocals?

Hmmm
This demo on youtube has the 1986/87 Stevie voice and the music of Tango in the Night. It sounds like a sped Mystified with a little Welcome to the Room Sara. I don't think this demo is from TOSOTM. It sounds very much from the Tango in the night era.

Default Hmm.

Just what everyone wanted...more versions of Family Man!

Will probably pick this up once it's dropped quite a bit in price. Interested to hear the remaster, but this is far from a favorite of mine. Curious as to why the bonus tracks are (or aren't) what they are.

Are we sure it's not the 5.1 on the DVD?

Well I not 100% sure (and hey, I would be absolutely thrilled to be wrong) but the Rolling Stone article stated the DVD is a High-Resolution Stereo Mix and on another message-board a Rhino representative stated that a 5.1 mix not created.

Again, I truly hope this is in error.

Every version of Family Man is amazing.

I guess time will tell. I do love the Rumours, Tusk, Mirage and Say You Will versions I have of the 5.1 SS........I'm still buying it.

I imagine that there is no 5.1 mix because the many layers and overproduction of the record i think that is just how Lindsey works on records. Layers and layers and then downmixing and adding more.

The individual instruments would all have to have their own track. This is how Rumours and White Album and most of Tusk and Mirage were done. I also think that most of the prep work for the 5.1 mixes we do have were initially prepared many years ago. If I recall the 5.1 dvd of Rumours was initially started back in 1996/97. This is where the Stems for those songs come from. Tango might be very lush but I think loses coherency as it splits the instruments into dofferent channels. Think of how strange Pet Sounds would be is just the individual instruments played. By themselves the parts seem strange but together they make magic. I think Tango is like this. I bet if they had the ability to do it they would have done it.

I really did not care for a whole CD of crappy 80s dub mixes! i guess its better than a DVD of the Tango concert with the infamous bloated Stevie.
