Default Please don't hate me...

I just saw that beautiful press photo of FM and Lindsey looks amazing. He looks just stunning. Man, the years have been good to him!!!!!

But then there is the wedding band. I was one of those S/L people who really wanted the two together, and they look so hot together, but there is that ring, screaming at us that hes a happily married man. GREAT. I am happy for that,
but...

Its just like, man, this sinking sad feeling. This tour will NOT be the same as the Dance tour was to me...and it will be sad almost each night.

I am a sad, pathetic person. Maybe if I was married Id not feel this way, but Im a hopeless romantic * keyword:hopeless*

I think you'll be happily surprised Janet...I have a feeling this tour may well be their best ever, specifically because of Lindsey's (relatively) new situation. I think he will be more focused than ever, and deliver the best performances of his life.
And don't forget, at the end of the day, "the show must go on": i.e. it's Stevie and Lindsey's job to make you believe that it's the very day that they broke up each and every time they sing (or shout!) "And if you don't love me now, you will never love me again" to each other on stage.

Lightbulb Seteca...AGREED!!

I believe that Lindsey and Stevie are happy with their chosen paths and I STILL think they will scream and give each other "looks" on stage. That fire between them will NEVER die..IMO. It's gonna be SOOOOOOOO exciting to see what this tour brings...even tho it seems like everything is disappointing some...the album title, the pics, the wedding band (LOL). It doesn't bother me about the wedding band..makes Lindsey MORE sexy to me because he's COMMITTED to ONE woman and has two GORGEOUS kids!! As long as Lindsey is happy, YAY!! I'm just happy that Lindsey (and John and Mick) don't have to resort to groupies any longer (at least I PRAY not!! ) because after I saw that lady on Insomniac with Dave Attell, I wanted to BLOW CHUNKS! She claims to have been with TONS of rock stars...including Lindsey and John...just looking at this woman made me lose my lunch.

You know what Janet, this tour WILL NOT be like the Dance! It could be even better, because really it's going to be just THEM up there and like Stevie said recently you can't just pretend that their relationship never happened. They are still going to be at it hammer and tongs when they sing Silver Springs and we as fans won't expect anything less than their best effort, wedding ring or not! I'm also thinking that the whole BN/30 something years in the music business thing together, will be very important to them both and it will show up not matter what! .

Hmm... maybe Lindsey and Stevie will just focus on the music. Perhaps we should follow suit.

Sure, but if you're going to focus on the music, you can't ignore what a great deal of the music is about, or the circumstances under which it was written. Well, I take that back, I guess you can if you really want to, but then you're definately missing something.

Damn you and your impeccable logic! I guess I'm just kind of sick of that very, very old story. But, hey, who cares what I think? Sometimes not even I do.

I must be in the teensy-weensy minority of the audience for the reunion tour that didn't really register the hugging & kissing onstage as anything more than just friendship & show. I watched em closely many a time back when they were not friends, on all those old tours, & I think my permanent impression was really cemented at that point---she in her own little world & he being bandleader & musical director & getting into it the most during the jams with the rhythm section (that's when his face truly lit up). There was very little interaction between those two, typically, probably because Stevie couldn't see very well & was always trying to focus so intently on her fans in the front rows & Lindsey often seemed embarrassed about positioning himself too close to the flapping chiffon wings.

With "The Dance," the whole Barbara Cartland thing with the fans just seems so amusingly foreign.

I agree, SmthngOfADreamr. The emotional baggage behind all of these songs are part of what make them have so much meaning to me. It is a big reason why I feel so connected to these people. They aren't perfect. They have made mistakes. But they are still connected to each other...the feelings are still there. Maybe not in the same way they once were, but they're still there, all the same. But if that were suddenly gone, IMO, then listening to their music would sort of be like listening to The Eagles, or Genesis, or Creed, or whoever. True, those people have talent...and although I do have *some* of their work, I don't own all their music and I never will, and I will never post on a message board about them, or spend over $500 on two tickets just to see them. That connection just isn't there.

For whatever reasons you're drawn to the band, I hope going to a Mac show is never a reason for mourning.
