I believe they already reviewed it and gave it 4.5 out of 5

It isn't on the Rolling Stone website yet on the 'reviews' section.

I don't think they rated it yet. I wish they would give it 4.5 stars.

It is reviewed in the October 23 issue of Rolling Stone (with Obama on the cover). They give it 3.5 stars and listed Belle Fleur and The Dealer as key tracks.

That's good I guess, but I thought they would give it at least 4. Anyway chalk up another positive review.

"[I]t's an inspired move ... Nicks conjures the old black-lace magic and makes it feel new." Top tracks are Mabel Normand, Belle Fleur, The Dealer, and Cathouse Blues. It notes that she "purrs, 'I'm still a dreamer's fancy.' True, that." |

But at least he gives the most articulate description of the album so far, from everything else I've read. He certainly displays a depth of knowledge and sense to understand the modern day Stevie in context of her history. A few other reviewers reveal their ignorance.
His only inexplicable mistake was citing Carousel as a song where Stevie covered herself. ??? I think he got confused in thinking it was a Stevie-penned song that Vanessa covered.

"As a homage to the tracks themselves, Stewart kept the production simple, recording and producing them near to the style in which they would have been recorded back when they were written. Nicks’ unmistakable raspy voice is stellar over these tracks, her stream-of-consciousness lyricism and song structures just as fresh now as they were in the so-called heyday. The result is a high-quality, solid collection of rock songs that sound timeless rather than dated, reaffirming that Nicks is just as relevant to rock culture here in the twenty-teens as she was during the peak of Fleetwood Mac." |

Yes, and this is why I thought that review in the Reveille or whatever it was was SO lame, because the guy complained the record was "overproduced".

hey Rolling Stone
so RS couldn't at least give it a 4 rating.. sorry, but they gave the new U2 a 5 star rating, and I do love that new record, but it seems they just can't get past the 3's when they rate Stevie.. oh well.. in my book, she's a 10. And I just got my renewal notice.. I guess I won't..

Sheryl's Crow country record Feels Like Home got 3.5 stars and while it was a nice little album, it was nowhere as good as this. Of course, she is their darling. P.S. The Apple giveaway of U2s new album backfired. It almost seems like every one ttys to shove that band down people's throats. Apple over did it. |

Hasn't Rolling Stone given all three of her Stevie Nicks' last albums 3 1/2 stars? I thought TISL and IYD also got that rating.
