I doubt it.

That video was insanely popular and in constant rotation on MTV.

If ANY music video was ever art, Gypsy was IT.

Agreed! I love the depression-era portion where she’s walking like an urban gypsy down the streets of some city…

And, for what it’s worth, though it’s Chicken Shack and not FM, I’ve always wished there was live footage of I’d Rather Go Blind.

The Hold Me video gives me Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes.
The film was released one year before the music video.

I just always kept waiting for them to say the word Mirage because I thought it was the title track.

Actually, I think you hit the nail on the head- I’d never thought of it before, but it makes perfect sense that whoever came up with the concept for the Hold Me video took the cue from the name of the album and that’s why it takes place in the desert.

Good job, jbrownsjr!

The video had mirages in it. Doesn't Lindsey throw his guitar through one of them?

Yes! Now it makes sense. Now, does anybody know why they named the album Mirage? If I read about it I just forget. About the hands illusion effect, I guess it's something fans have speculated, don't know if the band confirmed it is.

I think mirrors is the word you're looking for, dear...

Bless your heart....

Mirrors that implicated a mirage. I think during the lead up to the Big Love video premier on MTV Mark Goodman said the same thing about the special effects in the video Hold Me.

In your mind, what does the mirror image represent? Mike Pence as the Mona Lisa? I think most people got the basic special effect that it was a mirage or mirage type vision. Stevie walking on top of a sand hill with a giant painting is not seen as some sort of mirage to you? Why must we always have to explain the basics to you?

It looks like a mirage, until Lindsey throws the guitar because he presumably realizes it’s a mirror. So I think it’s fair to say Villavic spoke correctly.

I’ve never heard how they came up with Mirage, which is interesting because they have said many times how they came up with the names Rumours and Tusk.

I like they stuck to another one word title, and the only reason I can think for the name is maybe it was metaphorical. Is it true, or just a mirage that FM is back together. You know, that sort of thing. After Tusk and Bella Donna, there were doubts FM would make another album. That’s the only thing I can think of.

I'm an extremely concrete person. The exact opposite of Stevie.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I only remember Lindsey throwing his guitar through it. To me, it was just a mirror?

What is this Mike Pence OBSESSION you have? You watch Mike Pence porn while you're doing the rattlesnake shake?

I think because they're not particularly proud of Mirage. At least not in comparison to Rumours and Tusk.
