It ties in with Carol's book where she says Lindsey tried to teach Stevie to play the acoustic guitar during rehersals and it didn't work out. I also have a rehersal CD of Stevie asking Raymond if he is playing on Go your own way and it pretty much sounds like what Raymond described in the book. I need to find that CD and listen.

Just got around to finishing this book. Have to say I was ever so slightly disappointed. Whereas Kc's book focused on the technicalities of in-studio recording, Ray's book is firmly about supporting live bands. However, whereas KC talked a lot about the FM band members Ray has included relatively little about FM.

There are a few little anecdotes. It was interesting to read about those early shows in Maoui and Alaska. It was also fun to read about his 'beef' with Loggins & Messina (particularly Messina to be accurate). I also enjoyed reading about their entrance at the Day on the Green via the papier mache cauldron and forklift....brings images of Spinal Tap to mind. In fact I'm convinced the Ian Faith character in Spinal Tap is part based on John Courage.

Overall though I got to the end of the book and felt slightly deflated not to have found out more about Fleetwood Mac. In fact, I think I found the most interesting part to be about his time working with Prince in the early 90's.

6 out of 10.
It was surprisingly well written and was easy to read... But could have done with a few more anecdotes:
... caterer, rastafarian, bartender, chauffeur, security guard, babysitter (child and adult), mechanic and medic.... come on Ray, old boy... tell us more!!!!

I also didn't realize that he was married to Christine Alsbury, who was in the inner circle. A friend of Stevie's who was a makeup artist. I'm sure between the two of them, they could have written a pretty good book. I skimmed a lot of the beginning and read from the time he started working for FM
