So what happens financially with the tour when dates are canceled? Is Stevie taking a bath financially?
Here’s what Roger Daltrey from The Who told USA Today this week: “Touring has become very difficult since COVID. We cannot get insured and most of the big bands doing arena shows, by the time they do their first show and rehearsals and get the staging and crew together, all the buses and hotels, you’re upwards $600,000 to a million in the hole. To earn that back, if you’re doing a 12-show run, you don’t start to earn it back until the seventh or eighth show. That’s just how the business works. The trouble now is if you get COVID after the first show, you’ve (lost) that money.“ |

Remember when she said she was making a new setlist for this tour?

That was a surprise. Though Angel would've been a treat for her real fans. Dump Landslide and Gold Dust Woman for Sara and Angel.
Fall From Grace is a warhorse that she hasn't done from a while. Odd she chose that over a song from 24 Karat Gold, but maybe it's her message to LB. I Sing for The Things could have been a more uptempo song from RAL like Some Become Strangers or maybe The Nightmare mixed with Bette Davis Eyes. Otherwise 15 of the songs were done on last year's tour. |

That's a tired ploy she uses to attempt to sell more tickets. We know better now.

If Stevie had covid, would that be announced?

Wouldn't she be playing the victim, if it were her?

I think her ego driven mentality prevails.
And for her to say…. I never caught it, everyone around me had it. But me I never succumbed….I must be special…. I can hear her saying that. |

She will claim Christine as her guardian Angel protecting her.

Yeah I remember that. I couldn't help but think of it potentially being a jab at Lindsey. At the time his tour was a hot mess with covid cancellations.

It may help Stevie to sing more of her upbeat and positive songs and put her in a positive frame of mine. I like to see her happy!

She seemed happy singing Annabel Lee, Belle Fleur, Starshine , and New Orleans on the 2016 Tour , I don't know why she doesn't do those anymore!

The endless tours with the same old setlist are clearly not working anymore. Time to record and get critical acclaim. 24KG and IYD were both greeted positively by critics even if they sold in relatively low numbers. New recordings would also be a great boost to fans.

It's so unlike Stevie to ignore her most recent album too. Remember she played a song from Street Angel during Enchanted, and from 2005-2013 she played TISL songs. 2016-2023, she played songs from In Your Dreams. But in 2022 and 2023, she didn't play anything from 24 Karat Gold (no Show Them the Way either but that song didn't sell any copies). Maybe since she's playing with Billy Joel in 2024, she'll have something new. But I really thought she'd have new music this year considering she's playing 20,000 seat venues and I was wrong. |
