Country Joe McDonald
Has anyone ever heard the recordings Peter Green Made with Country Joe McDonald. of Fish fame? I read that due to contractural constraints Peter was named "Rockhead" on the credits. I have seen reference that Country Joe has CDs remastered from that album on his website. Being gunshy I am looking for guidance on this one.

Hi maryellen healy!
The album is called "Hold On - It's Coming" and was released in 1971, and I think it was recorded in 1970. I have a CD reissue of it from mid-90s. Peter appears on three tracks "Air Algiers", "Only Love Is Worth This Pain" and "Mr. Big Pig". And yes, he plays great... maybe a little more restrained than his wildest Mac-flights, but I love it. The back cover says that Peter Green plays electric guitar. However, inside the sleeve the personell for each track is listed, and Peter's name appears nowhere. Only "Mr. Big Pig" has listed "Rockhead" as guitarist Daniel |

Thanks Krzysztof
The CD I have lists the following personell: Air Algiers: Joe McDonald: Vocal, acoustic guitar Vic Smith: Bass, electric guitar Chicken Hirsh: Drums Only Love Is Worth This Pain: Joe McDonald: Vocal, acoustic guitar Alex Dmochowski: Bass Mr. Big Pig: Joe McDonald: Vocal Vic Smith: Bass Richard Sussman: Piano Rockhead: Electric guitar Greg Dewey: Drums Alex Dmochowski is the bass player on Peter's The End Of The Game album. He plays on a couple of songs on this album too. So maybe he was the link between Peter and Joe..? Or maybe they knew each other from Fleetwood Mac's trips to the US..? I seem to remember seeing an old poster (Fillmore, Warehouse etc...) with both bands on it. I wonder if they crossed paths.... Nick Buck (End Of The Game pianist/organist) also appears on one track. Alex was also the bass player in the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation (4 albums). Of course we all know that Peter played with drummer Aynsley in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
