A limited edition CD sold only at Target wouldn't chart on Billboard. When the DVD of the concert is released, I'm sure the CD will be released as well, and to all outlets, not just Target. That's when the CD will chart on Billboard.

The Eagles last album was #1 with a Walmart only release. So there you have it.

Thank you for the correction, HomerMcvie. I guess when I saw the CD listed as a 'limited release,' I assumed that meant a limited pressing.

The 24 Karat Gold concert will be airing on PBS this Friday Dec 4.

^Cool, thanks for the tip! It’s also streaming on demand now if you have Passport (ie, contribute are least $5/mo to your local PBS station).

According to PBS.org, it debuted on TV yesterday.

Good job Stevie Nicks marketing!

I'm surprised this isn't on Netflix or Showtime.

In Chicago it’s on our PBS station tomorrow; Monday, Nov 30 at 9PM. I think you need to check your local listings to see when it will air in your area. But thanks for the heads up I wouldn’t have been looking for it to air this soon outside of streaming.

Just a forewarning, the PBS special isn’t the complete version of the concert shown in theatres. It edits out all the talking (some people here may prefer that), has a different running order than the cd and is not the complete set list. It also skipped a bit during a couple songs (Moonlight, Crying In The Night and Edge) but maybe that was technical issues with the station and not the show.

Apples and oranges. The Eagles Walmart exclusive was their first studio album of new material in 28 years vs. what is basically a live greatest hits album from someone who never really was away from the spotlight in a long time.

Garth Brooks sold a multi-disc greatest hits exclusively through Target and it hit top 10.

He another compilation through Walmart too and hit Top 10.

Is 24 Karat Gold Live CD a greatest hits? I thought she said there were 6 new songs in the set.

Not sure if it's apples and oranges. She's had millions of people finding out who she is through tiktok, an interview on national tv, a theatrically released film with an ad for the cd and vinyl at the end, and an extraordinary amount of press. She's the most popular and successful artist int he world.

Eagles didn't have social media and it was a horrible economy when that album was released.

Whatevs.
Classic artists from the same era. One hits #1, and one is a dud. GOT IT!

Do you think a store exclusive Don Henley or Glen Frey solo live CD would have fared better?

Furthermore, it’s her fourth solo live release.

It is high time she did a 45 minute Zoom concert from her living room for $15 a pop. The measure of a true artist.

^ She couldn't perform 45 minutes on her own. She'd have to sing without accompaniment. Think she could play Landslide on the goya?
