Shame. I've owned 2 Dell's since 2002. And when I replaced the first one in 2008, it was just because I wanted a new one... not because it crapped out on me.

Ditto. I've had multiple Dell PC's since '93 or so- never had any problems. I love my Toshiba laptop, too.

I've never had a PC, my parents taught me how to use Mac computer, so when i started school I struggled cause Windows is the only thing they use. Its only recently they've started bringing Macs into the classroom. I know they seem more expensive, but when you look at the cost of extra programmes, anti virus software etc I adds up.

Either one's fine, as long as you're using Linux! (My personal recommendation would be Mandriva. )

Oh, the Dells I had were h-e-double-hockeysticks... but still better than my Mac. I consider the Mac to be the worst purchase I've made in my entire life.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Anti-virus is free. Microsoft has its own free version as well as the other numerous packages you can get for free online. No one should pay for anti-virus.
