Except for the freely growing cannibas! It is gorgeous. Tommer, thanks so much for taking a moment (or several) to share this with us. What a cool adventure! Be wary of cabs. A local here (Ilana Marks) wrote a book called The G String Theory that is pretty neat. http://www.ilanamarks.com/ It is a story about her spiritual journey out there and her visit to the temple where Sai Baba is. The cabs sounded like the most frightening thing she encountered.

Enjoy the mountains too. Ahhh... such a dream as I stare at this monitor from within my cubicle!

hallo again!
i'm now in Dharamsala, which is the exiled residence of the Dalai Lama, and where a giant party is about to take place tonight. the town's all packed with tourists eagerly waiting to explode.
i appreciate everyone's comments, and there are some things i'd like to clear; 1- i'd send hundreds of pics, but the 4 i attached above took me a full hour, so that's gonna have to wait awhile till i get somewhere with a decent connection.
2- please don't look at me like i'm a pig just yet, although it's getting dirtier under my fingernails (from charas of course), i still take 2 showers a day, but everywhere here it's just dirt and **** all over, they have no garbage disposal system here, the cows and crows eat some, some they burn, but much of it just rolls in the streets. scary.
3- travelling here is no big deal really, other than the plane ticket, you can live nicely on 10 to 15$ a day, inc. everything, so if anyone was thinking about going, but considered money to be an obsticle, then it shouldn't be.
4- that 4th pic there makes me look fat, i'm not.
5- remember: in an endless 15 hour bumpy ride on the edge of mountains and cliffs, in a vintage jeep, there are only two who can save you, it's either god (whom i don't believe in) or your minidisc packed with stevie nicks' entire discography.

I'm sure we're having similar weather--In the summer, I like to refer to Austin as "Little Calcutta."
