I heard the 72 bootleg and she is in much better form there. But even then her singing voice is not as stellar as it usually is. Ironically, Welch came off pretty good on that date. Kirwin is barely audible above the crunching guitars.

One of the more amusing moments on that bootleg is after a brief but loud microphone hissing: Welch and McVie complain loudly, and then Welch says "I thought the lord walked in the room and that was the sound of his voice."

Keep in mind. You can't compare the Christine McVie from the very early 1970's to later on. She got ALOT better as time went on. She would admit that herself. If you listen to the Sausalito & Hempstead boots from 1974, she is even better. I think she sounds wonderful on those 2 boots. She also mentioned in a 1984 magazine interview that she used to have a lot of trouble staying in tune when singing harmony.

Really? Hmm, this is interesting news. Where did you hear this? If I have one gripe with this great release it's the lack of tape source information in the liner notes, so any further info on this would be great, thanks in advance.

Sorry, pet peeve...it is:

K-I-R-W-A-N

(Just like there's no "A" in Lindsey)

I don't think there was an aborted second solo album. The liner notes in the Madison Blues box set say these songs were recorded at a promo session in November 1969. She "retired" shortly thereafter.

He certainly IS. And he's just like a regular Joe. He posts and answers all the time on his own site! He DESERVES to be in the R&RHofF....as much as anybody!

WHY OH WHY did they not include him...almost every other memeber of FM was included that was there for a valid amount of time...why not him?

Did they give a reason?

AFAIK, over some bitchy, UNGRATEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, reason by Mick.
Nothing else adds up to him not being included. If Mick told them he was an integral part of FM history, his inclusion WOULD have seen fruition.
And, of course, he IS a hugely integral part! B/N would have never seen the light of day, had he not devoted himself.

Bob did sue them, over back royalties I assume. I think that may have had something to do with it. Bob Welch most certainly deserved to go into the Hall of Fame with the rest of them.

If you hit this link there's an option to buy the transcript, i think, of some of that legal case. I always mean to buy this, but still have yet to get around to it. I'm sort of interested in what happened!! so nosy.....

That's what you get for being nosy, Lis. I've always wanted to know more about that lawsuit. That's about the only thing that Bob didn't specifically talk about in his Q & A a few years back.

He didn't because he's under legal obligation to NOT discuss the settlement of the case.

I'm still tempted to pay the twenty bucks to see what the other lawsuit was about LOL. My nosiness has no boundaries... but hey it's out there as a matter of public record, so anyone can look, I'm not delving into any deep dark secrets!
