small Chris clip

So here I am again watching more of my John Mayall DVD, and in the 1969 Turning Point documentary, lo and behold ,who makes a quick cameo but Chris. I swear, if I'd blinked I would've missed it!

The footage shows Mayall and his band in Heathrow, preparing to leave for America, I think. I'm guessing John and Chris may have come to say goodbye to him, why else would they just be wandering around in the airport?

Anyway the clip begins w/ Mayall and John McVie shaking hands, greeting each other (and FWIW John McVie looks SO tall and thin, almost like Mick! chap needs some meat on his bones... he has on a cool brown fringie-type shirt, such a hippie) and walking up behind McVie in the background is Chris, wearing cool shades and a mighty short skirt LOL. McVie looks at her as she and Mayall shake hands; you can't really see her face but in one shot you get a clear glimpse of her very shapely leg LOL.

I will get some pics of this up within a day or so; on weekends Marty and the kids totally hog the good computer and I'm stuck down here in the basement.

There's a few good screen pics I will put up soon....just wanted to mention it, I was so excited when I saw them.

John was such a cutie then. That woman and her short skirts! I cannot wait to see the pics.

It gives one a good feeling knowing that Chris was so cool, hanging out with the "big boys."

Does anyone have the video of those interviews she did back in '84 for the PBS special on women in rock? It's the one where she said, "In actual fact, I am a star" & "I'm not some arrogant, flippant bitch."

Yes I actually just watched that the other day while making a tape for someone.

Was that 84? For some reason I though that was around 81-82.

From that same interview:
"I can be extroverted....depends how drunk I am."

OK here are three pics of J and C greeting Mayall in the airport.... 1st two as she walks over; 3rd one she shakes his hand while adjusting her heavy handbag LOL, also check out that curvy leg LOL. John's black cowboy type hat is in front of her- the skirt is shorter than that, but I can't really get a good shot of it.

John showed Mayall something in thre newspaper before it cut off.

Will add some more pics from the DVD in next post...

OK, here are five more of John...the first one is so sweet. Could he look any more like a sad puppy? The quality of 2 and 3 isn't the best but it'll take me forever to fix it. You get the idea, he was gorgeous LOL, that chin, oooh my goodness. My Godson has a cleft in his chin and it is too darn cute. anyway-- a few more pics to follow in the next post...

One of Mick looking quite dashing; another of John playing recently w/ Mayall; the 3rd is of Mayall's ex-wife who looks stunning for whatever age she is-- has to be at least 60-65? She actually had a very funny closing remark, along the lines of how mayall "will keep rocking on and on and on....! What's he going to do sitting around the house?!" LOL. Mayall left her for his fan club secretary, leaving 4 young children...tsk tsk tsk...but anyway she seems to still like the guy.

And last one is Peter saying how John Mayall is a nearly a legend now (back in 1969!)

So there ya go.

Lis, thanks for posting all those pictures from the DVD. Only you could pick out Chris way in the background.

You're right, John did look mighty fine in those early pictures.

You're right, John did look mighty fine in those early pictures.

I'm telling you, John caught my eye immediately, but the clip was so quick that I missed Chris the 1st two times. As I skipped back for a 3rd time-- like the psychopath I am-- I noticed the cool chick w/ the shades in the background.

And yes, John was, as Chris has said, 'devastatingly attractive' LOL (and IMO he still is mighty fine!) A handsome face stays handsome.
