I'm embarrassed to say I originally didn't know it was her either.
Sometimes we'd (meaning "I") would con my old boss in to letting
us play a soft-rock radio station at work. This was the early to mid-
eighties, so I had just become a fan. Anyways I kept hearing this song
on the radio. And then one day the light bulb came on. I called the
radio station and asked is that Stevie Nicks singing on that song. And
my suspicions were confirmed.

As I read the RS review on Don's album. There was no mention of Stevie at all in it.Or I must be blind and did not see the small print.

Probably because his song with Stevie isn't on the regular album. It's merely a bonus track on the Target exclusive. RS typically will only review the regular versions of records and not mention anything exclusive to Target, Amazon, iTunes, etc.

This is about the CD and not the duet. I'm a mild DH fan and I listened to this CD once and won't ever listen to it again. For me, it's that bad. The lyrics are all cliches. It was so bad that in a couple of songs, I was actually predicting the next line of a song before he sang it, and I"m not that good. The song about a single mother working as a waitress was just patronizing to women. Yuck. Since I'm not a big fan I don't really care, but even so I was really disappointed. I love Boys of Summer and The Last Resort and a few other songs of his, but this stuff is just bad, IMO.

Sorry to be so negative, but I rarely dislike anything this much and I just needed a place to complain. I'm better now.

No need to be sorry.

I understand your opinion. I'm also a "mild" Don Henley fan. I had expectations this would be a more lively affair. Rather than calling it bad, I'd say it's just bland. I'm not a country music aficionado by any means, but I think an album like Billy and Bekka's country album (from years ago) is more dynamic and appealing.

I've listened to the Target version of the album several times. It's sort of like audio wallpaper --- undemanding backround music suitable in morning hours or late evenings.

His album debuted at 3 selling almost 90000 copies. You can thank country music people for that. 24k got better reviews than his new album.

I like the song, but it sounds very "patch worked" to me.....all the other harmony and backing vocal perfectly blend with and support the lead vocal....Stevie's vocal sounds tacked on at the last minute!
And I would much rather have heard her do the second verse, with them coming together in the third, much like they did with Miranda and Mick. Still, a really nice song!

Thats great news for him.I hope they play the sht out of it instead of the so called country artists.I dont tune into current country radio anymore.I bailed out of it years ago .They all sound the same with the autotuned manufactured music and it sound like crap..

Don and the Eagles are 100 more country then todays currents.

Rant over.

Maybe he will perform on the CMA's next month.

Is the album worth buying? I'm not particularly a fan of Don Henley but I do like the Eagles somewhat. I would really only buy this album cause of Stevie but wondering whether I should or if I would be better off downloading the particular track?

If you like the Eagles, you'll like this album! I think it's the closest thing he's ever done to the Eagles, solo-wise!
As for Stevie's track....don't expect too much......it's one of my favorite cuts, but blink and you'll miss here!!!
