Default LAKE STREET DIVE Unbelievably great!

I just stumbled on an unbelievably talented four member band called Lake Street Dive on YouTube singing a cover of the Mamas and Papas vocals arrangement of their cover song hit Dedicated to the One I Love. Perhaps you have heard of them; they have have been around for a few years.

Two women and two men. One of the women is the lead vocalist, the other is a singer who plays an upright bass. One of the men is a singer who plays a horn and sometimes a guitar, the other is a singer who plays the drums. Together they make magic and give me the chills. Everything they play is f*cking amazing-- from their harmonies, their musicianship, and their unique presentation. Besides their original songs, they cover a lot of songs from various influences ( including Second Hand News) and deliver killer interpretations.

They are an exceptionally tight and accomplished group; it's just unbelievable. Check them out and share your impressions. They have made two album and an EP, with another album on the way. Eventually I will get them. Right now I'm just absorbing and enjoying all of their performances online. They transmit a huge dose of awe and joy.

I just listened to "what I'm doing here" written and sung by Rachel Price, live, in one take.... And wow! Her voice is powerful. I like how I started listening and I immediately eased into the music, I somehow tend to want to analyze when I listen to new music. I can tell with this band i will be able to just listen and enjoy.
