Default Lindsey's vocal on 'Thrown Down'

I was thinking about Lindsey's impassioned vocal at the end of "Thrown Down." You know that part in the VBOFM documentary clip where Stevie says to Lindsey, "You're singing it really high _ I'm just saying, it's a hard part and you have to sing it on stage," or something along those lines?
I bet she was referring to his vocal on "Thrown Down." After all, it is the highest I've heard him sing in a long time...

Default High or Monotonous?

I think Stevie said Lindey's part would be hard to sing because it was so "monotonal" (I think she meant monotonous). I figured it must be for that song Illume.

Hmmm.... you might be right, Nancy. I'll have to go back and watch the video again.
Another interesting point about Lindsey's work on this song: He gave it a minor-key sound. On Stevie's solo demo, it has a very major sound (even though not all the chords are major). It's cool that he chose to bring out the song's darker tones, which make it a more interesting piece.

No, I'm not 100% certain, but I think that Stevie was complaining that her part was monotonal in whatever song that was, and that Lindsey's part was going to be the difficult one to replicate on stage because it was so high. And I think they were talking about whatever song we were hearing at the time on the video, not Thrown Down.

But I agree with you, I think Lindsey's vocal is great (and higher than we've heard in a long time). It sounds like he's really straining himself, but in a good way. Very passionate!

Yes, I totally agree, and it's those arpeggiated guitar chords in the first verse and muted (a la "Everywhere") notes in the 2nd verse that work so well with that "minor" sound. He really does know how to produce her songs doesn't he! Really works magic with them!

Yea it's that one where he's singing "If I can get you to do dance"......I'm really looking forward to finding what the rest of the lyrics to that song are!
