To those people who got to see it a the theatre:
1) Wow! It sounds great. I'm so happy to hear the consensus is good. I'm not in love with everything Stevie does these days BUT am happy to hear this seems like a success. And I'm happy when the newest wave of attention she's getting might be based (at least partly) on a viable product, i.e something that warrants the attention (instead of flukes like viral videos and crack pot interviews that gain attention.) 2) How was the theatre experience? Were the theatres full (or as full as they could be with social distance seating?) Thanks! Glad you all got to go. Ricoh |

Happy to hear it is good quality stuff, the show I attended on the tour was amazing and packed to the rafters with genuine fans who even sang along to New Orleans and Moonlight and Starshine! I had tickets to see this film today but my region has gone into a sort of lockdown so no cinemas are allowed to be open and the money was refunded. I really hope they can show it later when things open up again.

2. careful editing. She knew she was being filmed, and she spent days and days with them editing it just how she wanted it. I'm glad people are enjoying it (I know, I know, anyone who isn't up her skirt is a "hater" ) but to think it isn't thoroughly tweaked is to ignore everything about her and her history. This is a woman who demands recordings of radio interviews that she sends back edited how she wants. Same with print interviews. So, yeah.

My theatre was very socially distanced (which was a bit weird after being in a football stadium with 39,000 people last week). I would say 80% of the available seats were occupied. It was screening at quite a number of cinemas in my city, so would be interesting to know what numbers were like elsewhere. I expect more people will be at the Sunday session.

It's all in the language and the intent. Constructive criticism is constructive criticism. That is not hating. Insults/name-calling, crass insinuations, that is where the "haters" designation comes in.

I watched the film in Tampa tonight and absolutely loved it.
I think of seeing the "White Wing Dove" HBO special when I was 7 years old and how much I loved it - and then when I discovered "Red Rocks" in the early 90s and that was such a part of my life. As much as those videos were part of then...I thought how special it was so go see a new Stevie concert film now, in 2020. We're all getting older...too. Thankful for another chapter and a film that's part of it. And really, who the hell every thought we'd be sitting in a theatre in 2020 hearing fantastic live versions of "Lady From The Mountain", "If You Were My Love" "Crying In The Night" "Wild Heart/Bella Donna" etc etc? And "Mable Normand" as the closing credits? Ten years ago if someone predicted this we would have banished them lol. (Especially when the late 00s tours were so formulaic.) 24K was really a special era - you could feel the magic in the film. |

I saw the film in Boca Raton Florida.
The theatre was about 80% full. People were applauding after songs, laughing along during her stories, and it was a wonderful experience. Her voice sounded just like it did when I saw the tour. I read today that the movie will be streaming soon as well. This has been such a hard year, and this really was a nice escape. I loved it ❤️

Haha. Reference aside, to be literal, of course I do. Doesn't change my definitions of haters vs critics.
