Do you know what I find funny?
That Rumours line up minus Lindsey is POST-RUMOURS.
BUT the current Rumours line up minus Christine is considered to be Rumours.

Just callin' a spade a spade...

I think its fair to say that Lindsey is pretty much the one who defines the "Rumours era" sonically. Songs like Sad Angel just sound like Rumours era songs in a way that songs like Love is Dangerous just don't. One is very easily grouped together in the public's mind while the other just isn't.

Anyway, I adore this song and love seeing a bt of live footage. I'd love to see Rick and Stevie doing some random one-off performance of this and Desiree these days. Those songs are both such fantastic fun. Highly unlikely, but I can dream.

Perhaps, BUT to me, it's not even close to the Rumours lineup! I want:
YMLF
Don't Stop(no, not by them)
SYLM
Over My Head
Hold Me
Think About Me
As Long As You Follow
Over and Over!
Why
Songbird

It'll never be the Rumours lineup to me, sans Christine.

Love is Dangerous is one of my favorite Post-Rumours era songs.

But the Rumours line up minus Lindsey has new people in it. The one minus Christine is the same people from the Rumours line up, just minus Christine

Still, without Christine, it's NOT the Rumours lineup, no matter how you twist it.

It should be the Say You Will lineup. Because THAT is what it IS.

Au contraire. "Sad Angel" doesn't sound anything like a Rumours era song...it DOES sound like a Lindsey Buckingham solo album tune, however. But, that's where the divide is. Prior to '87, there was a cohesive sound from Fleetwood Mac. Then there's the Post-Rumours era. Even though The Dance counts...everything AFTER Christine's departure DOESN'T have a cohesive sound that the Rumours era band had. Sure, 80% of the lineup is together including 67% of the songwriting...but, there's a disconnect between the Rumours era sound and the current (or lets say SYW era) band has. Lindsey's trying to wedge his solo sound into Fleetwood Mac and his "production" of Stevie's songs don't seem to fit anymore, or have changed drastically to where the SYW era (and later) sound is nothing like the Rumours era sound.

Plus a keyboard player, guitar player, additional drummer, and backup vocalists...a spade is still a spade.

Fact is Christine was in the "Rumours" line up. Fact is she retired. Hence.....

I totally disagree. It sounds just like "Temporary One" and "Big Love"'s love-child.

Those people are not on the studio recordings though. They add those to the live shows and they've done that since at least Mirage.

No...the Mirage tour was just "the five" (with the occasional appearance of Lindsey's guitar tech, Raymond Lindsey, on acoustic on 2 or 3 tunes)

I know Neale Haywood played on a few tracks on SYW.

Gotta "agree to disagree" then, cuz I cannot for the life of me hear either of those songs in "Sad Angel".

Not accurate. The Mirage tour was the last tour where it was essentially just the five of them performing. The augmented musicians and vocalists came into the picture when Lindsey refused to go on tour for Tango in the Night. After Rock and Billy left, and Stevie and Lindsey came back, the added musicians and vocalists stayed, for better or worse. I didn't like it at first, but I've gotten use to it. On this current tour, the added players visual presence is very minimal.
