Default Billy & Todd Performing for Democratic Party

Franklin Home Page news reports Published: December 4, 2013

http://franklinhomepage.com/singer-s...8#.UqDU4mCA0ic

The Williamson County Democratic Party will host an amplified rockabilly concert on Monday, Dec. 9 at Kimbro's Cafe in Franklin.

The event is the group's monthly "Make It Blue Monday" fundraiser, with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. The doors open at 6 p.m. with live music starting at 7 p.m.

The event will feature the Tennessee "DemoCats" including Todd Sharp, Vogt and Jack Bruno with special guest Billy Burnette.

Burnette, who has penned hit songs for the likes of Ray Charles, Cher, Roy Orbison, Alan Jackson and Faith Hill, is enjoying a resurgence of success for his own solo career with the recent release of "Rock & Roll With It," his first studio album in a decade.

Burnette, an acclaimed guitarist who has toured with Bob Dylan and John Fogerty, and a former member of Fleetwood Mac, is an inductee into the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame in Jackson, Tenn. Burnette and his cousin Rockey were the inspiration for "Rock Billy Boogie," recorded by his father and uncle known, the Johnny Burnette And The Rock And Roll Trio, in 1957.

The Tennessee DemoCats is a diverse group of musicians who have played with such major stars as Rod Stewart, Delbert McClinton, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Elton John and many more.

Kimbro’s Café is located at 214 S. Margin Street in downtown Franklin. Adults and children are invited. For more information, click here or contact the WCDP at (615) 790-3659.

Nice to read SOMETHING about Todd Sharp...he's been a mystery man for a few years lately. Hope he's been working on a new album; I thought Walking All The Way was great! Love the guitar tone on that album.
