What's The World Coming To
Just speculation, but I think this may be the "Shuffle Riff", re-titled, but perhaps with the lyrics changed (ala "Peacekeeper").
The lyrics "I'm gonna wait for you" on the chorus or "Walkin' down the street baby now" at the end could easily be replaced by "What's the world coming to." This is such a powerful song, I can't believe that it would be left off the album. Of course, I can't believe that "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind" and "Down on Rodeo" were left off. |

Shakcin up
Dont worry I believe 100% that Lindsey has done this album with consdieration for the eventuation of another album around the corner, so has spread out his best work from the past 6 years. If every strong GOS song was on SYW, it puts a little bit of pressure on lindsey for the next one - I'm sure he sees it like ginger beer, where you start off a batch with some residue from the last. It gives you something to work from rather than the total reorientation that has been the case for each album since Rumours. Whether this sells like Rumours or Tusk, I think Lindsey intends to make a SYW2!
So: Down On Rodeo and Shuffle Riff .... we're gonna wait for you!

If this is in fact the song we know as a demo called Shuffle Riff that would be awesome as it is a favorite of mine. I notice those missing songs like Down On Rodeo, as well as Deep Dense and Given Thing.....

Let's not forget his cover of Donovan's "Try For The Sun" and his Rolling Stones covers "She Smiled Sweetly", "Gotta Get Away", "Blue Turns To Grey", "The Singer Not The Song", (and possibly could it be the same "I Am Waiting", as well?)
Plus, the WAYYYYY unfinished "Steve's Riff (Wear You Down)". Annnnnnd, the studio version of "My Little Demon". Lindsey's got a really good backlog of songs (for a change!)

Wear You Down
Another awesome gem Lindsey could have released his solo album at the same time as Fleetwood Mac with the supply of songs he has and we all know that Stevie sits on a back log of many songs....I hope one day songs of hers like All the King's Horses and If You Were My Love and The Dealer come to light someday
