In need of a digital camera.

Hi all, I need to buy a digital camera to take to the Stevie concert in june.As I see the awesome photos posted on this forum of past Stevie/FM concerts in the past.I like to know the best small digital camera with all the bells and whistles.So far I saw a 10 mp nikon at BJ's for $220.00, Wal-Mart has the cheaper 8 mp Nikons for $179.00.
ok what kind of cameras do you have to to bring us these beautiful shots of Stevie and FM.

Well the digital SLRs by Nikon are sweet...but you won't get that into the venue. I am currently using a Canon powershot SD870-IS. It's only 8 mpx but the quality is really nice. Here's one:

The newer Nikon (10mp) has a 5x optical zoom as opposed to the older one with the 3x. So keep that in mind.

Get a Canon IXUS 75. Its an absolutely cracking little camera with a fantastic lens.
It is 7mp with 3x optical zoom and loads of built in features. I wouldnt change mine for anything. great camera !!!

I also agree that the Canon IXUS is the one to go with. If you can afford the 80 rather than the 75, it is better. The 75 is around the $230-260 mark and is great value - I use mine alot. Here's a pic using it -
