Well I hope Santa gives you what you wanted on vinyl on Christmas day.
The Glenn Miller album might be heading over my friend Joe's house .He's 97 years young and he should hear it.If I get to 97 .I would love to hear some Stevie and FM.

I have those little toy record players here .I dont like the looks and the quality on those new ones in the stores.

The only two Santa knows about this year are:

Son House The Legendary Father Of The Folk Blues (Analog Productions 200g.)

and

Melody Gardot My One And Only Thrill

I'm not talking about the "toy" record players. RCA and other companies
made them. The ones that only play 45's. They were kind of expensive for
their day. I don't think I'm explaining them very well.

Can you fix any old record player?

My best to Joe. Hope he enjoys the record.

Picked up a new vinyl collection from the Guerssen label of unreleased '60s recordings by the Peanut Butter Conspiracy's Alan Brackett. I guess I'm into under-appreciated L.A. singer/songwriters lately.

Jack White Boarding House Reach
You ask is this the regular version? Of course not.
This is Vault all the way. From the colored vinyl,
pictures and what nots. It's a nice set. Hope to get a
listen to it soon.

I say soon because I have several titles that have yet
to be listened to. Like...

Melody Gardot Live In Europe (3 LP set)
Fleetwood Mac Tango In The Night

So much great music, so little time.

Uh-oh...this might be the first Jack White record I
don't like. I'll have to give it another couple of listens.
I hope I change my mind.

It's starting to grow on me.

I'm not a big fan of the EVH guitar he's using.
But I guess I can't blame him for trying something
new.

A few more new ones...

Elvis Presley - The Searcher

Soundtrack to the upcoming HBO Documentary
which premiers this coming Saturday Night.
I have all the songs many times over. But
wanted to hear them with this new remastering
job.

The songs are great and so is some of the
remastering on choice songs. But I think
Sony Legacy could have used a better
pressing plant as the vinyl's quality itself
is relatively poor.

I'd suggest buying the Deluxe CD Set.

St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION

Something new for me. I really didn't know
anything about her until researching her new
signature guitar. Her videos are interesting so
I gave her new album a try.

While I don't care for some of the language she
uses. Some of it was enjoyable on a first listen.
Time will tell how much is grows on me or not.

The vinyl is pink and with my copy there was
included a pretty cool poster with lyrics.

That old vinyl bug has bitten me yet again.

One of the titles that showed up today...

Elvis - From Elvis In Memphis

Absolutely one of his best, but one problem...
broken in pieces. How dare the USPS!

Guess I'll live. As I still have a mint MFSL edition.

Default Ebaying...

I've come to the conclusion that a simple black velvet brush
(Tetra-Teknica RB-02) and a drop of Dawn dish washing soap,
can clean a record as good as almost anything.

After cleaning, place the record on a clean towel. Then turn
over the record and repeat. If needed a clean washcloth can
be used to dab (no buffing, it's not a car) the water drops up.
Wiping the record in circular motions with a dry cloth will leave
you with STATIC. Trust me I know.

This may be my biggest vinyl month ever.
