Yes, and it was reported that Christine was going to guest at his solo show. Do a BuckVie tune. Guess who put a stop to that??

Interesting. That’s exactly what Chrissie Hynde did - I wonder if SN had issues with that? If it created some kind of logistical problem, I mean.

not completely sure if he's being snarky about now or it's just a general comment (considering that in the first 2 years they already hit it big and White Album went to #1). i do note that he says "my" first 2 years in FM, not "our" as he and Nicks both used to.

Mick Fleetwood in Billboard article

https://www.billboard.com/articles/c...twood-mac-tour
Quote:
the reality was, in simple language, we weren't happy, and the details of that are part of the fabric, almost, of the story of Fleetwood Mac. We weren't expecting this time, but it also does not seem surprising. Every man and woman in Fleetwood Mac wish Lindsey well in any ventures he's doing and also have a huge respect for what he did with Fleetwood Mac; Having said that, it wasn't working for us and we made the decision as a band to continue, and that's what we've done with open heart.
Quote:
I think it's stubbornness...and the love of what (John and I) do. Being the rhythm section of Fleetwood Mac, the reality is we don't function unless we're in a band. I'm not being sort of flip; I think that may very well having something to do with it. We want to play, and if we're going to play there has to be a band around us.

Oh, and they also admitted that Stevie and Mick had to convince John and then Chris.......if truly "we" as in everyone wasn't happy, why did some get caught by surprise?

he should just say what he means... "we" is Stevie and me. When Stevie isn't happy, I'm not happy
Maybe...

Although I tend to think that LB might have been a little unhappy too. Unchanging set lists and meandering speeches from other band members might have gotten too far under his skin on their last tour.

Lindsey Buckingham in a fan Q&A on Instagram

Q: Have you talked to the rest of the band since what happened?
A: No. I have made countless overtures to Mick, Christine, and Stevie and have gotten radio silence so far.

Discuss in this thread --> Rumours>Lindsey talks on IG

Richard Dashut on his Twitter 35 minutes ago:

Look I’m clearly on Lindsey’s side but I refuse to trash the rest of the band for a decision I was not present for. They were all my friends so I find myself in a rather difficult position. I am not here to judge, I shall leave that to you. The music shall outlive the bull****!

I think Richard is certifiably nice. To a fault.

He could take some life lessons here...

Mick Fleetwood in Tulsa World article

Quote:
Have I ever thought that the band might cease to be? Yeah. But only for a very fleeting moment because I turn around and there have always been two or three key people still supporting, or me and John sitting there with two other people going ‘Well, do you want to give up?’ And the consensus has always been absolutely not.
(...)
With Lindsey having departed from Fleetwood Mac and separating from the band and us from him, it doesn’t diminish the work that he has done in this band and everything is approached with respect and a sense of who we are, as well, as a band now, which is going forward with two incredibly talented gentlemen who have more than a track record that speaks very loudly, as you mentioned.
