John was once family and Christine was Molly’s godmother.

Exactly…they were family and still very close.
John is very reserved and won’t be making speeches about something he believes is private.

that looks like LB's daughter (Stella) next to him, and looks like a blonde is behind him, but no clear if it's his wife or his other daughter Leelee. Looks like Mick has a daughter with him also.

If the paps were there, that suggests they had a tip from someone. You wouldn't just randomly be parked outside that venue expecting a memorial service or FM members.

I totally get why they would want to snap pics, though, because, aside from Chris being a newsworthy person, the whole SN/LB drama and 'will we see them together or in any way interacting" would be a draw. Not saying I agree with that, just saying from a news/pap perspective, that would be a worthy get.

ETA: The tall, dark-haired person just visible over Stevie's head sure looks like Karen. The shorter blonde to the right of the pic is hard to tell coz she's wearing a mask. Could be Mary, or someone else...

I love that Lindsey wore his standard Lindsey uniform.... (frankly, so did the others)

thanks for sharing this, warms my heart to read he was able to be with her.

agree re all the questions and insistence on John statements. people are nosy and self-righteous. if they stop and think, they would know half of the answers to their insistent questions. John has no social media, never gives any interviews, and FM made a statement. if someone expects a separate statement from John, they have not been paying attention to this band.

same with questions why Stevie was told not to fly in, while John went. he's a family and a close friend. she is not.

that all said, i am just as nosy when it comes to finding out more about the memories shared by the band at this LA memorial. and i'm happy they were able to celebrate Christine and start their own healing over losing her.

Stevie did not have same sort of relationship with Chris that John did...J and C were extremely close. They were like family.
you explained this with way more patience and tact than i would. thanks!

A former associate actually told me last night about this , so at this point, I don't think it is really any secret. So this all I will say...

I keep seeing on various websites 'why doesn't John make a statement??' etc etc'...and it kind of upsets me.

I cracked up at this. It’s exactly the kind of humor that I think our girl Christine would absolutely approve of!

then again, imagine a reaction from either Stevie or Lindsey if one of them wrote a song about the new lover right after their breakup making loving so much [more] fun

Chris had the advantage of John not writing the lyrics of any songs. so 2 of them just didn't talk for years, to get closure - while the Californians yelled and screamed at each other like little kids.

i'm really glad, too. Like chris had said in a couple of her last interviews, he is a really good man. There was no way he would not have been there for her.
