Why is it a shame? Constant change is the name of the game for this band. Say You Will is wonderful for what it is.

It's well known that Christine was very unhappy on the Dance tour. So she left. Gotta respect that! Why would you want to see her out with the band again, when she's clearly done with it? I'm happy to hear she's still making music though.

How about her catalog of songs pre-Buckingham Nicks??? A lot of those tend to get overlooked! The Rumours era band did play a few of them in concert, early on. But those logically disappeared from their live sets once newer songs emerged. Even her earlier songs display an unwavering consistency.

Morning Rain
Show Me A Smile
Spare Me A Little (performed live 1975-76)
Homeward Bound
Believe Me (performed live 1977)
Keep On Going (written by Bob Welch)
Why (performed live 1975-76)
The Way I Feel
Just Crazy Love (performed live on Chris's 1984 solo tour)
Remember Me
Dissatisfied
Did You Ever Love Me (a would-be classic)
Heroes Are Hard To Find
Come A Little Bit Closer
Bad Loser
Prove Your Love (Chris once mentioned that she didn't like her vocal performance on this song -- and regrets it wasn't produced by the Rumours era band) I nod my head in agreement on that. Still a nice song, but Lindsey would have polished it into a jewel.

Thumbs up

I'm really into Come A Little Bit Closer. I like it just the way it is. Am surprised it wasn't a single. It's my favorite Chris song out of the pre-Rumours era, maybe my favorite, period.

I'm sad she's not on the new album, but I like the album anyway. In terms of how I feel about Lindsey, my favorite work of his is on SYW.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Christine play "Remember Me" on her 1984 tour, as well? Or, was that on the Bob Welch & Friends: Live At The Roxy? I definitely recall a live version of it sometime in the early/mid 80's.

Remember Me on her 1984 tour? Well, I know that was a very short tour...and I have a couple of full shows, and there is no Remember Me. I've seen parts of that Bob Welch show and I don't recall Christine even being there -- just Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks. Can anyone else confirm this? Inquiring penguinheads want - need to know!! lol

It's kind of curious, Julian, that you didn't include any songs on your list from the Fleetwod Mac album...Christine had some great songs there. While that album was technically pre-Rumours, it is ultimately a Rumours-era album.

I like Over My Head, not so much for the lyrics but for the feel of the song. Very cool.

I love Dissatisfied and Spare Me A Little. I sort of just discovered them. I'm glad you're doing this!

She was definately at the Bob Welch concert and they did do one of Christine's songs from the Bob Welch era. I think it was Remember Me, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm sure someone round here must have a copy of it though.

I think that some of Christine's best songs are on the Mystery to Me album - Why is just beautiful. I really love Chris's song Homeward Bound from the Bare Trees album too. It's actually one of my favourite FM songs. It's interesting because it's all about how tired she is of touring - and that was in 1972! So I suppose we shouldn't be suprised that she finally packed it in. As much as I love SYW, I do still miss Chris. She was in the band for so long and she had become such an important part of how they made music. So of course she is missed, but like PenguinHead said, Fleetwood Mac has always been about change, and that's no bad thing (though the Mac have been known to have some very dodgy line ups in the past!)

Yup, RM was definitely done on Welch & friends @ the Roxy deal.

As for pre BN CM stuff done on the '84 tour, I know "Spare me a little of your love" & "Just crazy love" were done if that's of any help to anyone.

Oh Wow! I guess I don't remember (or have seen in full) the Bob Welch concert. Does anyone have the live version of Remember Me!!!??? I'll trade for the single version of Crying In the Night (heavy guitar mix). I just burned it on cd from the original single. It's not digital quality (duh!) and has some "fuzzy fidelity" as most vinyl singles do.

Yeah, Christine had lots of great album tracks. They did play Over and Over and Think About Me late in the Tusk tour. What's more surprising is that they rehearsed Honey Hi! That would have been great for an "acoustic set." Of course it never made it to the stage. And I don't understand why Sugar Daddy is so malaigned! I think it's pure Christine!

In addition to "Remember Me", Chris also sang on "Hypnotized" & "Sentimental Lady" at the Bob Welch & Friends Live at the Roxy show. It's a great show. I wish somehow that this would be released on DVD(the complete show).

As for listing my favorite Christine songs, there's just not enough room here. I'd have to list just about every one of her songs, since I love them all.
