an amazing thread..
but hey, it's about music.. and for someone who doesn't listen to radio, I need all the help I can get discovering new artists/albums.
I was off work today, so I went music shopping and picked up a couple of new CDs. Angie Stone's "Stone Love" and Jim White's "Drill a Hole." Angie Stone is one of those artists whose music I buy without hearing a note. I've listened to "Stone Love" twice and I have to give it 2 thumbs up. I never heard of Jim White until I bought tickets to the Lucinda Williams concert at the 9:30 club in August, and noted that he was the opening act. I came across his cd, purchased it, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not for sure how to describe his music, but I love his album. I'm so old. I'm sitting in my flat on a Friday night in the heart of D.C., drinking a glass of red wine, and listening to new music. If I knew that it was gonna be this nice, I would have gotten older sooner. :-) But seriously, check out Jim White. And I also have to give Christine another plug. I'm still enjoying her "In the Meantime" album. It's been a good music week for me. :-) |

I rented Stuck On You (so far it's hilarious) and I just stopped at the part where there's a male voice singing Moon River. Not sure who. I always liked the song.

Just finished watching the movie (which I loved, BTW). Turns out the song was recorded by Andy Williams. Who knew.

Easy...
"Back To The City" by Keel...A nearly 20 year old classic heavy hard rock track if there ever was one.
