And probably flew back to the east coast after that, though at this point can't recall if that was the case or not.

I don't believe there is any pay for Half-Time performers, nor should there be. The exposure is incredible, and they end up making a ton of money anyway.

I believe this year they were actually trying to get artists to pay for the privilege of performing. Whether that's ultimately what happened with Katy Perry or not, I don't know
